I can't answer for nassau but as far as castaway cay there were no bugs at all. My daughter is allergic to mosquitos and most every biting bug out there and she has not blown up so she must not have gotten bitten LOL
I think it depends on the season and weather conditions. I am one of those people who gets bit by any bug within a 10 mile, and usually I am fine on CC. But on one trip my legs got bitten so badly by sand fleas that I looked like I had a disease!

we followed out April 23rd western with a weekend in WDW. I have to say that I was fine on the cruise with not one bug bite to report BUT the saturday we spent in Epcot following (or it could have been sitting on the beach at WL watching the water parade) was enough for my legs to get eaten alive.
If bugs were people I'd be loved a lot more than I am. However, I've never had a problem with any bugs on CC or any port from the cruise line. Disney World is a different story. I was there early June last year. I was in the lazy river at Typhoon. A hornet was heading straight for me. I went through the innertube into the water. It literally drowned himself/herself coming after me. I was so glad that I had witnesses. No one would probably believe me otherwise.
