Bugs and snakes

We saw a snake last September on the walkway between the pool and Hawaii building at the Poly. Stopped us dead in our tracks!! :scared1:

I believe those black snakes eat rodents, so they are helpful. Not so sure about the 'gators, though. :rotfl: They eat bigger "rodents".

Out on the patio we've seen little lizards, a frog, and an armadillo. Hubby was checking in the bushes to see what the rustling and scratching noise was, and they practically bumped into each other. It was pretty hilarious deciding which one of them jumped higher, DH or the armadillo!! :rotfl2:

Now for the punch line... this was at my real "home" in Oklahoma!! You all must live in some pretty urbanized locations to never see anything that creeps or crawls!! We live in small town (20,000) that is surrounded by rural areas. In addition to the above-mentioned, I've seen a road runner dash down the street, possums in the grocery store parking lot and one night a raccoon momma and her 2 kits actually came into my house thru the cat door. (Don't even start me on that story. Obviously, now the cat door is closed and barred after dark - any cats not in by curfew, get to spend the night outside!).

....... In fact, we're probably related to roaches.

At least they don't smoke and don't try to steal your spot for Spectromagic.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope your friend is well, soon:)

Actually, their diet is about 99% fish and turtles...except for baby gators, who eat bugs and other small things.

At MGM a few years back, maybe 10 or so, my son caught one of the little lizards and carried it around in his pocket for quite a while. Cute as the dickens (and apparently quite harmless)! But we wouldn't let him take it back to the room with him, much as he wanted to. :teeth:

We have had a bug at OKW and at BWV. There are geckos all over the place. It's FLORIDA! ;)

Those cut little lizards tend to carry Salmonella, as do reptiles in general.

So does chicken thawed out on the counter. I do believe in soap and water after touching raw chicken and after touching a lizard (if you can ever catch one). I happen to be a police office in the inner cities of New Jersey. You should see some of the people I am forced to touch, those cute little lizards are the least of my worries. Large amounts of Liquid Dial and water!
