Bugaboo strollers

I've looked over strollers and I think I've decided on a bugaboo. I will wait til later to see what color I need. I saw what you mean about smaller seats but the stroller doesn't need to last too long, I mean we could just get a different one later on, but the bugaboo will be cute for the first one, as long as I can get the color I want. Thanks.

I bet if you also posted this on the Disney for Families board you'd get a whole other set of responses! And FAST! That's the stroller crowd over there!

My husband would have been happy if I wanted a Bugaboo.

I have a Stokke, it was expensive; but it is awesome! To give you an idea of pricing it is designed in Norway, and manufactured in the Netherlands. I mean what is made in the Netherlands?

We also have a Peg Pergo Switch, which I thought was fabulous until I took the Stokke out of the house for the first time. [For the first 6 weeks we used the Stokke in the house as a rolling bassinet--I had a C-section and stooping to pick up the baby was not easy. The Stokke paid for itself in those first few weeks as far as I was concerned.] The Stokke drives well with one hand, it is awesome.

I am as frugal as they come, but for the 3-5 miles I walk a day with the baby the Stokke is a good value. It comes with a 3 year warranty--so I am sure you will see us rolling around WDW in the future with this stroller. People stop us on our walks to ask about it at least twice a week.

Let me paint a picture.....fancy stoller, well dressed baby (huge baby shower), and very tired very poorly dressed lady pushing stroller (I am sure they assume I am a nanny).

If you really want a Bug and you can afford to purchase it, get it. If you use if for multiple kids or resell it when you are done it is not too bad.

Do you realize how much they cost? :rotfl:And where you're asking the question? :lmao:

I bought my daughter a Graco. It isn't even pink! I'm saving up for her therapy. :rotfl:

If you really want to browse high end strollers, take a trip to Buy Buy baby. I go there just to look at the expensive stuff. Then I might buy something off the clearance rack.

We had a Graco too..that managed to last through two babies! :scared1:

But then again, I'm not into what's "cute" or what will make me look "trendy" and "hip". :) All I cared about was it did what I needed it to do and was easy to maneuver and fold/unfold.

I especially wouldn't want a "trendy" or "hip" stroller that I would feel like I would need to watch like a hawk at WDW. My Maclaren was butt-ugly but stood up to years of use (far longer than most DISers would allow ;)) and was easy to find in the sea of strollers.

stepmommyof1, does this mean that you are pregnant? If so, I can't help but be concerned for both you and your baby due to your mental illness.

I don't have a bug but I do have an Uppababy. If you haven't looked at them I would recommend it. It comes with the bassinet and the seat. The seat can flip either direction and you can fold it with the seat in (facing out). The customer service is also top notch. I had a problem with the latch to hold the frame when it was folded, not the frame, just a plastic latch, they overnighted me an entire new frame.

You can also make it a pseudo-double. I wouldn't use it as a full time double, but it would work once in a while.

I agree. She has stated that she doesn't take her Meds consistently. Always worriesome. I'm still hoping it is for the dog.

I suspect she can't even take most of her meds while pregnant. The meds would harm the fetus and not taking her meds harms her. I sincerely hope she is purchasing the stroller as a gift.

You are right. I wouldn't worry if it were just during the pregnancy but she habitually has skipped them because she doesn't like them.

My dog is not one of those "accessory" dogs, so he can't really go in a stroller or anything. But I wouldn't put him in one anyway, I think that looks ridiculous.
And no, I'm not stroller shopping for stepson at 17, but from a lot of posts I have read here, I'm starting to think there's no age limit for kids using strollers at Disney.
We wanted a baby at some point oon, but meant to plan better for one, the timing was kind of a surprise but I'm sure everything will work out fine. Because of the surprise, we didn't have time to wean me off the meds and then try out different ones to see what would work and be safe for a baby at the same time. So I just had to stop everything once I found out, and my dr is starting me on another one that will be safe for the baby but it may not actually work quite as well for me but we just have to see how it goes, hopefully it will work out since the dr said it would be safer for the baby. "benefits outweigh the risks" type of thing
Haven't told stepson yet since it's not like I'm showing or anything. I'll probably tell him soon but I'm a little nervous whenever I tell people.
I can't wait to start buying stuff and setting up the nursery but dh says it's better to wait til you're over the first trimester in case anything happens.
I'm a little nervous about everything but its not like I'm in this alone. My husband and parents and one of my friends who I've told, they all have been helpful and supportive so I think that it will be okay.

Do you know for sure you're pregnant?

I didn't do a home test. I had been feeling sick and went to the dr. I didn't realize it myself, just thought I was sick.

Bugaboo strollers are more expensive than a lot of other strollers but I really want one, do you think they are worth it or is it all hype? Does anyone here have one and is it really better than other strollers? Also they have blue covers but I wasn't able to find pink covers on their website so...I don't know which one we will need yet but I did want everything to be the appropriate color so that will play a factor too.

I don't know if anyone asked, but after remembering some of your posts, I was wondering, and only answer if you want, Are you pregnant and when are you due?

Oops, only read the first page, sorry for the repetition!

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I had looked at a bugaboo, but I opted not to get one. Instead I had 3 other strollers for my youngest. I do think, thought, that you get what you pay for. So, I often opt for more expensive brands/products on things I want to get a lot of mileage out of or I need them to be comfortable or easy to use. (I went for a Peg, Schwinn jogger, Chicco umbrella--all will have good "resale value", too)

I agree. We almost went with a Uppababy Vista, but decided I wouldn't get enough use out of the bassinet option on walks because he was born during the summer. I had the Chicco travel system and now use the Baby Jogger City Mini - love them both and will be able to get money back when the time comes. And both of those combined are cheaper than the Bugaboo or Uppababy!

Oh goodness...They look lovely but I can't imagine paying that much for a stroller. If/when we have kids we'll have to do some major home remodeling/changes to make room for a child, so the poor kid will be lucky to sleep in a bureau drawer to start! (we only have a 2 bedroom home and my husband runs his business from the second bedroom. It's only a 4 room house...so if a baby surprises us, there will be lots of compromise going on to make room for a munchkin!)

I think they can be worth it, but I don't think they're good for running a lot of errands or taking the stroller in the car. I've heard it's a relative pain to put together everytime. I have the Indie Bumbleride (a jogging stroller, but not as heavyduty as the BOB), and I love it. It folds easily into the trunk of my sedan, travels easily on uneven sidewalks, and is super lightweight to push. Plus it's compatable with almost all the infant carseats out there. It's the only stroller I own, and I love it. A lot of people end up spending several hundred on the snap n go, travel system, and maclaren umbrella. I just spent $400 and got it all. It's not cheap, but a lot cheaper than the Bugaboo.

I have a Bugaboo Bee and love it!!! We started with a Peg and switched to the Bee when our DD was 7 months old. She is now 4 and she still uses it occassionally as does our DS20months.
The Bee is nice as it doesn't need to be taken apart to fold and is easy for running into malls as well as walks. It doesn't go through the snow quite as well as the others though.
I saw someone with the Bee in black and then they had a pink footmuff for their DD and it looked awesome together. However, I didn't notice what state you are from and if you would even require a footmuff. :confused3
I think if you have the money or can get the money and really want one, then go for it. It is not just your little one using the stroller. You have to push it, so make sure it is light and easy to steer.
