Sorry for so many questions but we are ONE WEEK away from our trip :cool1:

Are mosquitoes bad in the parks especially in the evening. Dd & myself are allergic to bites do I need some OFF?

WDW does a lot of spraying for mosquitoes, so they are rare, but attacks do happen. We were swarmed in early October in MK during MNSSHP while waiting for the parade. We lost my DBr-in-law 3 years ago to West Nile, so we take NO chances with mosquitoes!! Off makes a wonderful Deep Woods towelette that is individually wrapped and easy to carry in your bag - better safe than sorry!:thumbsup2

The only time we had a mosquito issue was on the water taxi from GFH back to MK after diner. It was probably around 8:30-9pm and the boat went from GFH to the Poly before going back to MK. We got stuck sitting in the boat waiting for the little light parade for about 20 minutes. The next morning I noticed about 10 bites on my legs. It probably wouldn't hurt to carry the Off Towelettes in case you get stuck sitting on the water like we did.

We rarely need bug spray when we go and we've been there 10 times as a family. but its smart 2 bring some j/i/c ya know?

I've been going to WDW for a long time and the only time I can really recall a bug problem is at the resorts. DH and I like to take walks in the evening and the majority of the resorts have some kind of water body on property. That seems to be where I remember dealing with mosquiots. So, like everyone else has said, yes, bring some spray. Better safe, than itchy!:rotfl:

I've never noticed enough bugs at Disney to bother. We sat on the beach at Fort Wilderness to watch the light parade in August and didn't get bit. Spent the Evening outside at the college program apartments and didn't get bitten. The only bite I got was at Gatorland by the swamp area.

We too have been many times (11 and counting :goodvibes ) without bugs being an issue, until last Sept. For the first time we were bitten by bugs. Some tiny little gnat things. Not the love bugs we saw so many of, but the gnats. We were first biten when we went off property (I know-it's my DM, she can't stay at Disney the whole time ) and we were really eaten up  (and they don't usually bother me at all!) at the Merrit Island Refuge and then a short time later while watching manatees off some, close-by,river. The next day when we went to AK, we felt a few more bites, so we purchse dsome OFF spray, at one of the stores. Better to bring your own (towelettes are a great idea) since it's more expensive in the parks, and not all the stores carry it.

FYI, we found out last trip that besides being able to get the regular items like aspirin, bandages, antacids, etc. at first aid locations, you can also get this gel type ,anti-itch ointment, that works great. :thumbsup2 You can also get those small, one-time use, contacts lense solution vials.
