The post about bug spray for a December trip made me realize that perhaps I should snag the Off from Carl's Scout camp supplies.

We will be at WL at the end of August. Is it buggy? I've only be to WDW once before in August and the only thing I remember is the heat...I don't remember bugs. Do they have mosquitos that could earn supplemental income as cargo planes? Other flying/biting things we need to repel?

Thanks

I've been to WDW during every month and have never needed bug spray.

I was there last August and did not notice any bugs. One night at Epcot, watching illuminations, Dh complained about being bitten but thats about it.

I'm always pleasantly surprised at the lack of bugs at WDW in August. I probably don't want to know what stuff they're using to control the bug population--I keep expecting to grow a 2nd head or something as it mutates our DNA ;) --but I do love the lack of bugs!

WDW must have an excellent spraying and standing water program, as mosquitoes are normally very attracted to me and I very rarely get bitten there no mater what time of the year. As a Floridian, if you just keep to the basic rule that most biting bugs are most active at dawn and dusk, and either wear protective clothing or bug spray, you should be fine.

Then I'm going to leave the Off at home. One less thing to leak in my bag and one less thing to give me a headache. (Love the Deep Woods Off, but the DEET just about kills me).

Thanks all.
