Buffy? Charmed? Or neither?

I haven't read the Vampire Diaries books, but I was told they are way different than the tv show.

DS really got into Buffy and Angel just a little younger than that age. Actually, he got me into those shows too. David Boreanaz was so cute as Angel.

I like Supernatural but only me. If she likes ghostly stuff, she might like this one too.

I LOVE buffy! angel!!!! wE HAVE ALL of the dvds from both shows we watched one show for a few months then switch to the other...my dh and I could say them line by line lol Buffy if a clean fun show (other then the spike sex lol) Its my fav....to me still better then whats on now.

LOVED Charmed! Maybe not the last season, but still I've seen every episode, and I LOVED it! Buffy, I have to be honest, I never watched the show.

I liked Charmed, but it got boring in the later seasons. Buffy, however, is still one of my favorite shows. If you have the Chiller network, they were running some episodes earlier this week. I have the whole series on DVD, and my son made me so proud last night by asking if he could watch some.
I have him started on the first season right now!

I think you might be in the minority, lol. But I think I might like Charmed. I liked Shannon Dougherty when she was on 90210, and my daughter liked her character Brenda a lot. So I won't completely disregard the idea of watching some of Charmed. I just think for now, we'll start with Buffy. Good to know there are some Charmed fans though. I like the opening song!

We must be missing out, as I've never heard of the Chiller network either. Hmm. Oh well. Isn't it fun when you can share some of your favorite shows with your kids?? I was so thrilled when she fell in love with the original 90210 and Dawson's Creek! When she's a bit older, I want to see if she's interested in Ally McBeal. I have that complete series and love it.

Spike does have some of the best lines. I also love Xanders lines too. I really miss having a Joss Whedon series to watch. Buffy and Angel had some great writers and you have to love Joss and the way he writes his story lines -witty, smart, fun, sometimes heartbreaking and no one is safe

I adored Charmed and liked Buffy. Why not both?

Of course Charmed is on TNT at lease twice a day. The show the episodes in order and they are pretty early in the series right now but they will cycle back around.

It takes 2 weeks or so to get to a season. I think they are in late season 2 or early season 3 right now. Season 4 starts Nov 23. There were 10 seasons so the pilot should be back around March. Maybe. You could start the DVR on that one for when she is finished with Buffy.

Buffy all the way! I never thought I'd be caught dead watching that show, but I got hooked back in college when season three was originally airing. Once the whole Faith/Mayor arc started heating up I was a fan for life.

Remeber that Joss and Co. have been writing an official season 8 as a Dark Horse comic book. It's hit and miss, but I love that the Big Bad for season 8 is named TWILIGHT (no spoliers from me!)

ANd for the Buffy geeks like me ... I actually have a FRAY #1 (future slayer) signed by Joss Whedon and Karl Moline (artist) framed along with a sketch of Melaka Fray signed by Moline. Probably not worth a ton, but it's one of my favorite peices of comic book memoribilia I own

If you like the writing for BtVS you'll love Firefly... another Joss Whedon creation. The powers-that-be really failed to promote this show and it was canceled after just 11 episodes. Fox didn't even air the episodes in their intended order. Hellooo? I didn't even see it when it was airing. My mother discovered it and bought the DVD set. AWESOME show! Also check out Serenity (movie). The show got canceled but later they turned around and made a movie. What kinda sense does that make?! They haven't even made a BtVS movie! Anyway, if you love Nathan Fillion (Castle), you'll love him in Firefly/Serenity! He even dressed up as his Firefly character on Castle last year for Halloween. Priceless! Great scene to watch.

Absolutely! Firefly (and Serenity) were excellent. I watched them SOLEY because they were Joss Whedon's.....man is a genius! Buffy is truely my absolute most favorite TV show of all time! I have watched and rewatched and rewatched, etc. my DVDs. I agree with the PPs: season 1 is not bad but whatever you do, don't judge the series by it. The writing on this show was amazing. Loved Angel almost as much. Charmed was good but I thought the characters and the dynamics between them were just so much richer on Buffy/Angel. Its really cool to see some other DISers that love these shows as much as I do. No one in my "circle" gets it! (I did manage to convert DH but he is only a closet fan) Now I need to go check out what Supernatural is all about.........

Joss Whedon has done some great stuff but he seemed to miss the mark with the Dollhouse. The series had a silly name to start with.

Did everyone know that he helped write the screenplay for Toy Story? He's now busy working on movies.

Can not say enough great about Buffy. Truly enjoyed Charmed, but not nearly as charmed by it as we were for Buffy. Still my favorite show ever.
