Heading back to WDW. It's been some time. Our last visit was 2014. My daughter LOVES buffets. Cape May Café is a must (for husband). We've tried and didn't like Boma (I think that's the name in AK) and Ohana. Not into Chef Mickey's, daughter really doesn't like character meals. Thinking more of dinner than any other meal. Are there any new and great buffets we don't know about since we haven't been there in almost 4 years? Any recommendations would be appreciated. TIA!

I am a buffet-lover too, though I have been disappointed lately with some I used to like. The buffet I like best now is Biergarten. It's a very fun atmosphere, and I enjoy the food selections. I used to like Tusker House a lot, but now that it's a character meal, I find it too loud and hectic, and the food doesn't seem as good as it used to be. I also (years and years ago) used to love Crystal Palace, but the cost puts me off it now. Hope you find one you like!

I vote for Biergarten, too. There are not many that are not character buffets. Some others to consider are Hollywood and Vine in Disney Hollywood Studios and 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.

Biergarten is definitely our favorite buffet and probably our favorite Disney restaurant. Food is always good, atmosphere and entertainment is fun.

1900 Park Fare was really good too.

My family really enjoys Trail's End Buffet at Fort Wilderness. It is a lot smaller than the other buffets that you mentioned, but it is easier to get an ADR there (sometimes you don't even need one) and my family just enjoys the more relaxed vibe there. Plus, the food is delicious and it is one of the cheapest buffets at the World.

Not many buffets that do not include characters but the Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge is a very fun family-style restaurant where the food keeps on coming out almost as efficient as a buffet where you can eat until you drop! If your family is a fan of barbecue a highly suggest it! Also, I know you said you tried Boma and did not like it but I would suggest maybe trying it again because I as well did not enjoy Boma at first but now it is by far my favorite restaurant on property! Now that your child or children are a little bit older they may enjoy Boma a lot better than the last time you visited. Hope this will help you out!::MickeyMo

We are big fans of Trails End as well. They have a nice assortment and it's probably the best dinner buffet value in all of WDW! Don't miss the S'mores bars for dessert (I swear I would just go there for those, oh and the cornbread too!!!:teeth::teeth:) Make sure to go with a big appetite! LOL!:rotfl2:

Feel free to check out my photos from there...

TRAILS END RESTAURANT DINNER BUFFET

Hmmm...isn't Biergarten German food?

Yes but ones that you are familiar with.... nothing that is out of the ordinary and some of it you just need not put the sauce on top and it will plain as in fried chicken or pork cutlets (depends on the day only one)... but I must say much better with the sauce...

If you're not on the Disney Dining Plan, the Garden Grive's Seafood Sensation buffet on Friday and Saturday nights is excellent. We liked it much more than the Cape May buffet where we went the same week. Bigger, better crab legs.

Biergarten is one of our favorite restaurants on property. And I HATE German food LOL. For years I avoided this place because sauerkraut scares me half to death and I think sauerbraten is forged in the fires of Hades. Oh and I hate the smell of beer and mustard (and the taste) But after years of holding my nose every time we walked past, DH demanded I make an ADR to try it.

OMG. I am in love with this place! The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is so much fun! The servers are great and we actually love the communal seating. Met lots of cool people this way. I could live on the meatballs and spatzle alone. the cheese soup and pretzle bread. The schnitzle!!
bliss...

Trail's End is a great buffet and inexpensive to us especially breakfast. We also enjoy Biergarten. The Wave has a breakfast buffet that I hear is good.

I'm just the opposite and for the most part do not like buffets or all you can eat places (other than breakfast). But there are a couple that I really like and would recommend. If you like German food and you are not introverted or shy and don't mind being seated at a table with strangers then Biergarten is a great place.

The other place I like is Whispering Canyon Cafe. Not a buffet but it offers an all you can eat skillet with pork ribs, pulled pork, roasted chicken, smoked beef, sausage, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and baked beans. Make sure you get some ketchup and don't forget to ask for a straw when the server forgets to give you one.

The Wave at the Contemporary has a very good breakfast buffet. Not sure if they have a dinner buffet though.

The Swolphin has character and non character buffets. The Fresh Med Market in the morning offers a very high quality buffet (their fresh juices are amazing), that I remember being reasonably priced, the bloody mary's are the only disappointing thing I've ever had at the Swolphin eateries.
