Buffet restaurant at AK?

We aren't on the dining plan, but I am curious about the buffet restaurant at AK. I am thinking we will eat a light breakfast in the room (granola bars, pop tarts) before arriving at the park and hit rides for a few hours. Then we may want to eat at the buffet restaurant. Do I need to make a reservation or is it easy to get in? Just curious.

You will love the Tusker House. The food is varied, frsh, and delicious. Make sure to get an ADR; it can be difficult to get into at times.

I would make an ADR for any place you really want to eat. Many places fill up regardless if it is a busy time or not
