Buffet Question

I already have my next trip planned with my sister and her kids. However, my mom said today she may like to go with us. She has said this before and changed her mind. I think she may be more serious about her yes answer now though. Our ressies are already made and I am able to get them rebooked with one more added. However, we are doing quite a few character buffets. She only eats one meal per day usually and doesn't eat breakfast. Would she be able to go to a character breakfast and just order coffee and not eat/pay the buffet price. I am thinking no but can't find the answer anywhere and in my previous trips have never encountered this.

I don't want to change our plans because the kids are excited about some of our ressies. However, I'd hate for her to pay full price or wander for an hour or two by herself while we were eating. She has stated she doesn't care to do either of those, but I thought I'd check anyway.

Sorry, everyone at the table has to pay full price. She'll still be meeting characters which is part of the dining experience.

Yeah everyone has to pay for the character buffet. The characters are included in the price, and in some places you also get pictures included (like at Akershus and CRT).

Well, I was feeling unwell once at Crystal Palace and they said it was ok for my husband to eat and pay and for me to just sit there with him and not eat and pay. I started feeling better soon after, so ate/paid anyway. But I guess that might've been an exeption.

No, sorry, if she is present she needs to pay the full adult price. You're going to see (and there are some already posted) where exceptions were made, but you should not expect to be offered an exception.

What a pain in the butt. My mom does the same thing. I told her we need to know for sure because we make ADR's and need to know how many, etc. She usually backs down and says she's not going.

I would just explain to her that you need to be sure about everything for ADR's and it'll cost money if she changes her mind. In the case of not eating breakfast, maybe she's willing to go shopping and eat at the QS nearby while you're at the TS?

This won't work. She can't get fastpasses for all of you unless you have already entered the park.
I would book the breakfasts without her and just arrange a time and place to meet when you are finished eating. She could sleep in late, shop, or just tour by herself in the interim.
