Buffet price increase - honor pricing from time of booking?

The Disney site uses the same 35-60 range for many restaurants. It's just an indication of what level it fits in. California Grill is also in the 35-60 classification, but it's quite possible to spend $80 or more on a three course meal.

I do think Disney need to provide more information for buffets, as full service meals have menus with prices up.

Part of the problem is that prices change with the seasons. During busier times of the year they charge more for the same buffet. Also the range can cover breakfast, lunch, and dinner time. Breakfast is typically cheaper than lunch and lunch may be cheaper than dinner.

If Disney can display the current menu for a regular restaurant for lunch and dinner I'm sure they could do something for buffet. Even just an accurate range for each meal, rather than just the category. So for example the breakfast menu might show $20-$30 and lunch $25-50 and dinner $30-$55. That at least gives more info than current.

But won't really help a whole lot with those trying to work up a budget. You are only changing the guestimate by $10.

My figures are made up as an example and Disney would need to be substitute with the real numbers, similar to Rusty does in the sticky thread.
Realistically it might be 33.95-49.95 for dinner or something.

Come now. We've seen Disney repeatedly screw up content publish, which in theory is pretty straightforward. Now, apply that across many restaurant pages.

Sorry missed the rumour, which restaurant does the rumour think will increase in price/ credit?

Rumour is that pricing for Chef Mickey dinner, Akershus lunch and dinner and Tusker House lunch and dinner will go up to 60$ for adults (2 credits if on DDP) sometimes in October.

On last weeks Dis Unplugged Pete said that a very reliable source told him that all buffets will be going up to $60 per adult and $39 per child or 2 table service credits for lunch and dinner. Breakfast prices will stay the same. He said they were starting to load them into the system now but the rate increase wouldn't happen until October.

I hate to say it, but that might be the final straw for us. Dining is huge for us and character dining/ buffets are huge when you have an autistic child that is a picky eater. To him, those character meals are a HUGE part of his trip. I am paying OOP for all meals in September, and I figured that that would be close to a $800 difference with tips from what we are paying. Not to mention the dining plan would be completely worthless to us- even free dining. Some of those differences are $20 more per person. For a family of 4 that's $80- plus higher tip. On dining plan that means half the meals if you normally do these. Maybe this is their way of phasing out free dining or the dining plan totally? I'm glad we moved our trip to September this year. With all the cuts/ price increases we've put up with, this might be the deal breaker for us. I'm hoping this is wrong and it's just a couple of them. But I can't see why they'd raise just those either.

Would this "usually" include free dining? Like the free dining I just booked (for the first time ever) this November so we could eat at lots of character meals/buffets?

Yes your free dining will still be free, but if they require 2 credits for a meal, you (and those who paid for DDP) will have to "pay" the 2 credits.
