Thinking of flying Jetblue direct in October from Buffalo because they don't have direct from Rochester. Never gone thru the Buffalo airport - how are they? Is parking easy, how is security, is its nice facility? Any info is greatly appreciated.

We frequently fly SW direct to MCO out of Buffalo and have never had a problem. I'm not sure which terminal JetBlue is in. The facility is smaller and not as modern as some other cities, but we've never had any amenity issues or problems collecting baggage.

If you're staying for at least a week, longterm/Econ parking will be cheaper, but if only going for a weekend/few days, the difference between preferred and econ is not much and we always pick preferred (you can walk in/out of terminal from there). There are ample shuttles and we've never waited long in longterm/econ. Since you're going in October, you won't need the covered garage parking. Security is good in the lots. Many people do the hotel stays to get the free parking, but we've never needed that.

I never waited long for my family to make it through TSA and they were never selected for strip searches :thumbsup2

i had to fly into rochester once but never out of rochester so i'm not sure how their parking/security/facility really is in comparison to buffalo.

i fly out of buffalo and back usually 1-2 times per year.
i like the buffalo airport.
the signs can be a bit confusing but not that bad.
once you get to the parking area its easy to find a spot and easy to get to the airport entrance.

i've always found security to be a breeze at the buffalo airport.
especially when i go on a super early flight probably because the TSA agents have not had to deal with too many annoying people yet lol.

i absolutely HATE security at the orlando airport so compared to that buffalo has some decent people working there.

the airport itself has always been clean.

there's some little shops and places to eat but since i usually take really early flights they aren't even open yet which kinda sucks when i'm hungry.

the last time i flew though it was in the afternoon and i grabbed a sub from the place across from my gate and it was delicious!

I live about a 15 to 20 minute drive to Pearson Airport (Toronto) which is one of the largest Airports in North America. I drive to Buffalo....ALWAYS!.....it is convenient, faster, and a lot less hassle than flying out of Toronto.

And if you are there from lunch time on, you can hit the Anchor Bar for some awesome wings! :thumbsup2

We flew from Buffalo once (normally we fly from Syracuse) and everything was great. Small airport, easy to navigate, clean, courteous staff. We are flying from Buffalo again in October (Syracuse in May).

We live in Rochester too and frequently fly in and out of Buf. The fares are almost always cheaper and more non-stops. We park in long-term parking and never had a problem. I would say the airport experience is similar to Roc just slightly bigger. I would not hesitate, especially since you won't have to worry about weather/roads in Oct.

Thanks everyone I really appreciate all the input! Now I just need to confirm my dates. :)

Check Southwest prices for your flights. I live in Buffalo and almost always fly Southwest to MCO. Love the airlines and have never had any problems. Great "non-stop" flights each way!
