have been bidding off and on for several weeks even though I knew it was too early. Thought I would have to wait until 2 days before.
Nope- just bid- only tried $60 and was accepted (guess I should have started lower as I usually start at $55)
Very very happy and glad no more bidding
anyone with experience using their parking??

No problem with the parking. They'll ask you to park at the front of the hotel, which is fine for me. You have to let them know you're parking there so they can give you a pass and to have for their records.

When you get back to the airport and you'll have to call from a payphone/cell as the hotel board does not have free calling to the Marriott anymore :(. Just be sure you have a bit of American change for the phone. They are located close to the luggage carousels.

No early breakfast there, so bring some Timmies muffins etc. There is also a Starbucks on site, but not open early enough for those really early departures. If you really need an early cup to get you going, use the coffee maker in the room.

Service is great and you'll love it!

How long are you staying? Most of these rates don't include "long-term parking" I don't believe. Most descriptions have the free parking during stay only qualification and that additional charges apply.

We stayed there last year, and got the Marriott on Priceline for $55.00 and we parked there for 2 weeks! I booked it again on Sat through Priceline, for this coming Sunday (March 6th) for our flight the next day, and I called and asked for 2 beds, the shuttle and parking and all was fine!

I know I've seen it but can't remember....what is the Priceline listing for the Marriot? Amenities etc.

The Marriott in Amherst is the only 3.5 star on Priceline! You don't need the amenities on Priceline only Hotwire. Good luck! If you do Priceline make sure to call and have them make notification on your ressie that you want 2 beds, if needed. They are not guaranteed with priceline.

What a deal. You'll love this property and the comfy beds. Parking is a non-issue. Just put your vehicle in the lot near the highway. Well lit and safe IMHO. We've used this hotel twice leaving car for 2 weeks. No problem.

Thanks to all for this "good to know" information. I may just try this soon. :thumbsup2

Looking at the Marriott web site it now says parking is only available if you book a special rate and it is $1.00 per day, so you may want to call to add the parking.

The website does state that there is a $1 charge BUT we stayed there Feb 11 and didn't have to pay extra. I called to ask about parking and shuttle with my priceline reservation and they said NO problem....the only thing they would no guarantee was a joining room ..We had 6 people in our party and got a room with a king bed and a room with two double beds. The shuttle service was great. You sure got a good rate for March break.

Even if that were true, way cheaper than parking at the airport. I would rather pay the buck a day for a nicer hotel. Thanks OP - we'll have to try this for our next trip.

When you book via Priceline do you still get Marriott points?
We are booked here for the night before our March Break getaway, and let's just say we're paying more than $60!!
(We love this hotel, by the way. All the comments about service, comfort, etc. are seconded by us.)

yes reg rate is I think $160

they told me no prob re parking and shuttle
asked for 2 double beds- they noted it but not guaranteed
if I dont get 2 doubles they will do a king with a rollaway

Do you have to leave your keys with the Marriot? That's a deal breaker for me.

We stayed at the Marriott before as well and got it for $58.00 through Priceline. No problem leaving your vehicle there for free while away. You can actually bid up to 7 times within a 24hr period because the Buffalo Marriott Niagara is the only hotel with a 3.5* rating in all of the Buffalo geographic zones. Just make sure you only select the 3.5* option when bidding and add another zone if your initial bid is not accepted.

I have never used Priceline.ca but am flying out of Buffalo in May so this makes me curious.

Let me understand - if I choose 'Buffalo - Amherst' and name my price I am going to get the Marriott?

Do they also have a shuttle to the airport early in the morning? I've read about parking so would confirm that after I book the room.

Thank you to those in the know, smart DISers that you are.

The site is Priceline.com and not .ca. Under Name Your Own Price just search for Buffalo NY and all 7 Zones will appear. Select the first zone (Buffalo-Amherst) and select the 3.5* option. It is the only zone with the 3.5* category so you will get the Buffalo Marriott Niagara which is located in Amherst. If your first bid is not accepted just increase your bid and select another zone. There is a free shuttle to airport. All you do is register your licence plate at front desk for free parking when away.

Keep in mind I dont think you will get a win in the 55-65 price range unless you wait until about 1 1/2 weeks before you leave. So have a cancelable backup ressie (mine was at sleep inn where I got 2 weeks parking, plus room for $114 plus tax) but there are lots of choices.

Once you win, cancel the other one of course.
I will report back after March 26 if any difficuties.
I dont think you get Marriott reward points on priceline bt since I am a member I will try it out. Free wifi if you are a marrioot rewards member

webworm,

Thank you. I am going to try this tonight.

I have to enter everything and if it is accepted I'm getting the Marriott at what I hope to pay. If it is rejected my credit card is not charged and I try again with a higher bid - is that pretty much how it works?
