Looking for suggestions on an affordable hotel near the Buffalo airport which offers park n fly and a shuttle to and from the airport.

I have stayed at both the Comfort Suites $89 and the Holiday Inn Express $114. They include parking, shuttle, breakfast and indoor pools. The Holiday Inn is newer but for the sake of one night I was perfectly happy with the Comfort Suites. The rooms comfortably slept 6 were was the HI was a bit crowded.

We have stayed at the Comfort Suites as well and yes the rooms are very large. The pool/hot tub area is nice as well as the complimentary breakfast in the morning. We will stay there again next week. Shuttle was very prompt both ways nad the staff nice.
Downside:
rooms look a little tired (definately not brand new) although the common areas look newer. The room was also a little on the dark side (poor lighting).

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last year it was wonderful, even packed us a breakfast as we had a really early flight.

Stayed at the Sleep INN this year cause it was about $20 cheaper.....it was icky...just really tired and old. It was clean enough but really tired.

Next year we will go back to Holiday Inn Express....enjoyed it much more, I know it is only for 1 night but to me it will be worth it.

the hilton garden inn in brand spankin new and right across the street from the airport. There is also the homewood suites, comfort suites, holiday inn express, holiday inn, best western, and sleep inn. Everything else is a bit further from the airport than i'd assume you'd want. I'm fairly confident that they all have free shuttles.

We just returned from our trip. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and loved it. Yes it was $114, but well worth it for us. It was very new and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the beds were queen size as opposed to double, and they packed us a breakfast bag to go (the breakfast starts at 6:30 and we had to leave at 5:45). The breakfast bag had a bagel, cream cheese, a piece of fruit, a yogurt, and a bottle of water - which was more than enough for us. The pool and hot tub were very nice and so warm on a cold evening. The shuttle service was great (they are right across the road) and when we returned we just called the hotel and they were there within minutes. I would definately stay there again.

Also, this was our first time flying from Buffalo and we really liked it. It was so simple to get to and get around, you cross customs at the boarder (about 30 seconds for us), and SWA was amazing - much more comfortable than Air Cananda. We would never fly out of Toronto again - we paid less than a quarter of the price it would have cost from Toronto.

Good luck planning and enjoy your trip - do you have room in your suitcase for me????? :confused3

We stayed at the Clarion, it is a bit older and 5 kms from the airport BUT it was $69 per night, very clean and the shuttle got us there in 5 minutes. Would stay there agin for sure.

Heck, you are going to Disney so do you need a resort before your flight???

Buzzfan,
Did you say that you called the hotel when you returned and they came to pick you up to take you back to your car? I guess I just assumed that I would have to catch a cab back. Did you stay there on your return as well? Do all hotels do this??

If the hotel offers play and fly then the pick you up at the airport - you just call and they come.

Just make sure you call them after you have picked up your luggage!

I called them as soon as we got down to baggage claim, but they wanted us to be outside waiting for them.

I guess that makes sense, as they do not wait for the courtesy van to be full. They take you immediately back to the hotel. At least that is what the Comfort Suites did.

Rubbertops,

When the hotel shuttle dropped us off on the way to the airport, they gave us a business card to call them on our way home for a hotel shuttle to pick us up. I waited till we were at the curb, called on my cell, and they were there really quickly. And no, we didn't stay another night on our return. Just grabbed our van, and away we went back to Canada.

Wee- Hagis - how was your stay at the Millenium hotel in BUffalo? It's one of the options I'm looking at for our one night stay FEb 2 before early Friday flight. Can you park car for free and do they offer complimentary breakfast? Thanks, Jo

I'm not Wee-Hagis, but I stayed at the Millenium Hotel in Sept and Oct (on the way to, and back from WDW). Ensure you get a recently renovated room. The older rooms are tired. For our first night, we stayed in a room on the first floor - older room. It was clean, but tired. On the return trip we stayed in a room in the tower - it was recently renovated and in great condition.

Parking is free for 10 days, but no free breakfast.

Pick up and drop off were efficient.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites on Dick Road on December 30, 2005. We got a rate of $99.00 thru Travelocity.com. The rooms was a one bedroom suite. It included Park and Fly and a hot breakfast in the morning.

This was the second time that we stayed there. This is a beautiful hotel and you will not be disappointed.

I guess you just have to luck out with the Homewood Suites - we stayed last Feb for $89 but have been looking recently and lowest was $159 which is way more than I want to pay - we really liked it though. We had trouble with noise at the HIE - we were right next to the pool on the first floor. The place was great though and the staff helpful - we also got the bag brekkie - we would stay at either again, just in a different location for the HIE.

Sleep Inn right next to the airport but not noisy at all. Great expanded breakfast bar with fantastic waffles! Parking included for up to 2 weeks and rates range from $89-$99 for a suite. Free shuttle to and from airport. Denny's restaurant close by. 716 626 4000 ask for Cherie she is the manager and will go out of her way for you.

When I checked the website, the lowest I could find is $124 for Homewood Suites Park and Fly promotion. It was more than I wanted to pay for our one night in Feb, so I called the hotel directly to see if they had any other specials available. They don't participate in CAA nor did they have any corporate discounts for mine or DH work. So I was chatting with the reservations person and said that it was really more than I wanted to pay but was going to book it and then I asked her if the rate went down, shoud I just call her and get adjustment? I told her that I knew there were $99 rates in recent past, and she said, well just wait a minute, and then said, "I'll give it to you for $99". Wow, I was very happy. I was prepared to take the $124 rate as I really enjoy Homewood Suites, but this was a great surprize. I think she said that the $99 rate was over end of January and my date was Feb 2, so she put in a special note on my ressie and extended us the deal! Great way to start our vacation!
