This sounds weird, but did anyone else find the seats in this theater to be the worse seats ever? They are piled right on top of each other, with no place to put ones knees. They lean back so that the person in front of you leans right into your legs. I have a bad knee and a man sat in front of me and the seat fell back and crunched right against it. OUCH! There is no way I could sit in the middle of a row for more than 15 or 20 minutes (which I had to during muster as this was our drill station). Thankfully I had some Tylenol to help with the pain from the bang. And, no, it wasn't the mans fault, the seat fell right back as he sat down.

Airline seats give you more room. These seats are bad for your knees, your back and your neck. We did not return to view any movies here, can't see sitting in them for that long.

Anyone else think the same thing?

Didn't find it to be an issue and I'm a large person. We watched four movies there on our recent WBPC cruise. Very comfortable.
Yes, there is more room in a typical movie theater but it wasn't that bad for us.

I always get there early to claim the first row of the main section of seats, with the low wall in front of you. Then no one is leaning back into me and if I need to get up I can just hop over that. They are very tight seats.

I found the leg space tight in the theatre on the Wonder, but not too bad on the Dream. Wasn't bad enough to keep me from going to the movies though.

On the Wonder I found the seats in Buena Vista more roomy than the ones in the Walt Disney theater, I'm larger, and tall so leg room is at a premium. I like to get the seats in the walt disney in the first row of the back section where there is more leg room but you have to get there early as those go first.

The very last row has no leg room at all!
On the Magic class ships, this is true. We were told those seats were for the kid's clubs when they take them to the movies. Don't know if that's true, or not, but kids could certainly sit there.

What I was told on the Art of the Theme Show Tour on the Magic is that (at least in the Classic Ships) is that they were designed a la old fashioned movie theaters where as the rows moved towards the back of the theater the spacing got smaller and smaller as a means to prevent extra-curricular activities in the back of the theater and push people towards the front to, you know, WATCH the movie.

Hmm... hadn't heard that one.. Could be...

The seat spacing in the Buena Vista Theater on the Wonder is very tight, especially if you are tall.

Agree with most above - have not had issues on the Dream/Fantasy, but pretty tight on the Magic/Wonder. Still love the fact that DCL has full movie theaters that show films pretty much all day/night. We're doing a Celebrity Cruise later this summer, and probably the biggest thing I'm going to miss.

I found the seats in the BVT on the Fantasy to be pretty awkward--not so much a space issue (for me at least--I'm pretty short), but the reclining issue mentioned by OP. It was just hard to get comfortable in the seats. The seats would lean back as you sat in them and it was hard to sit in them fully upright comfortably. But, I love having the option of the movies--thoroughly enjoyed the one we saw in the Walt Disney Theater.

On both the classic and Dream class ships there are a few standard chairs in the back of the theater. Perhaps not as comfortable as a regular theater seat, but it would alleviate some of the concerns people have with the seats reclining or not having enough space.

DH and I always go to the back. You're right about them not being as comfortable, but the extra leg room is worth it.

Yes,yes, yes - for the classic ships at least. I have a really bad knee, and as much as I love the fact that Disney has a designated theater for movies that venue is incredibly painful for me personally.

I haven’t sailed a classic yet but even the seats on Dream were surprisingly uncomfortable as I recall.

This. Totally. I end up squirming the whole time repositioning my knee every few minutes.

Just know that this area is technically reserved for wheelchair guests and their families. You may need to end up moving to accommodate them.

It was certainly not my intent to give people bad advice about those seats. I do not recall seeing any signage about handicap seating, but it's possible I may have missed it. When sailing with a family member who is definitely Pooh sized, we were actually told by the cast member at the theater that we should use those chairs, so that she would be comfortable.
