Hi,
Staying offsite this time, need the room, and WDW is out of control for room only...anyway:
Buena Vista Suites, 1 bedroom suite 109 per nite w/AAA breakfast included
Or:
Sheraton Vistana Resort (not Villages) 2 bedroom suite 119 per nite, no food included.

Where to stay? I'm really nervous about picking. I wish I knew more about the resorts....
Anyone?
Gretchen

I would go with the 2 br at the Vistana. YOu will have a much bigger unit than at the Buena Vista and you are getting a great rate for a 2 br.

Plus, the Vistana is closer to the Parks. Buy some breakfast food down at the Publix a couple blocks south of the Vistana. (Krispy Kremes).

Herc,
Thanks so much for the reply. It seems a no brainer...such a great rate for a 2 bedroom unit. I'm just uneasy about staying off site, no experience with the whole wide world!
Thanks again.
Gretchen

If it's just 2 of you, Buena Vista Suites would probably suffice. But if you'll have a family, you'll definitely appreciate the spacious 2BR at Vistana, the many resort amenities and a slightly more convenient location. There are a ton of things to do for people of all ages at Vistana Resort and several beautiful pools! After booking, go to their website to the "Diamond Lane" and make your request for the Cascades section. It's the newest part and very, very nice. This place offers much more of a "resort" feel than a suite hotel. Enjoy!

Gretchen,

Where did you get the rate of $119 for Vistana? The cheapest I can find is $189.

Does a person need to pay extra for daily maid service?

Hi, we are going in March to Vistana and hope it is as nice as the pictures show. I know the Cascades is the most desirable section and we made that request when we booked with our travel agent. How far in advance can you put in your Diamond Lane request???

Princessmomma,
I went to the starwood ressie site, click on the box with special rate or discount it is a drop down box-don't remember what exactly it's called, and click on promotional rates. Then I called the resort and booked it. They were offering the same rate on the phone with Starwood. The cheapest I got using AAA was around 169.00. Maid service is extra, you need to inquire at check in. I don't think we will get that. Oh, during the week m-th the rate is 119.00 for a 2 bedroom. The one bedroom was only around 89.00 it goes up on friday to 129.00 for the 2 bed unit. It looks beautiful, and fun. I hope! Now I'm excited about the whole offsite thing, a place for my kids to go to bed early!! Yea!

Lisa,
thanks for the info on the diamond lane, I didn't know you could request an area.
Thanks!

Gretchen,

Wow, what a great rate. I would love to get that, but the cheapest rate I have found is $160.00. I tried the pull-down box, but don't see any rates like you have. If you have a link, that would be great.

Thanks,

Pam

Pam,
I went to Starwood.com. Clicked on Sheraton brand. Search for orlando, click on Sheraton Vistana Resort (not the Vistana Villages, that's a newer, more expensive time share place.) put in dates, scroll to the pull down box for "Special Rate Plan" pick Promotional Rates. Then search for the rate. It came up with several prices, I scolled down to find the 119.00 I then called Starwood, and was offered the same rate s-thurs. and 129.00 on Friday. I just tried to search on my dates, and it is coming up no availibility.
Good Luck!
Gretchen
