Budget- which would be better????

We are taking our first trip to Disney in 2 weeks we aren't familiar with the area at all so I'm wondering which car rental would be best option (through Budget) The prices are within $10 of each other so price is not an issue. Our options are:

1. car pickup/dropoff at the airport
2. take Magical Express to and from the airport and car pickup/dropoff at the Doubletree Hotel (drop off the afternoon before we leave)

For anyone that has used Doubletree what is the pickup service like??? and how many hours after our flight arrives would I look at getting the car??

Pick up and drop off at the airport. Especially with the prices within $10 of each other, this is a better deal and more convenient. No worry about a shuttle service - just walk across the street to the garage and get your car.

Signage between the airport and Walt Disney World is GREAT.

Would we be missing anything special by not doing Magical Express for the first trip???

Actually, you'd probably be gaining time at Disney. If you haven't already, join Budget's Fastbreak club. You can go straight to the garage for your car, and skip the line. From wheels down at MCO to entering my hotel room, it's usually about an hour and a half to two hours, depending on luggage, traffic, etc. Many posters here say they have spent half an hour or more just waiting for ME to leave the airport. HTH

I would definitely pick up at the airport. Just got back Friday and it was easy peasy. When we arrived I headed straight for the car rental with the carryon bags the other adult went to the baggage carousel. I then swung around threw in the bags and we were on our way. Our plane landed at 4:20 and we were seated having dinner at 1900 Park Fare at 6:10pm.
