Hi all...hopefully somebody can help me...my DD6 loves to play teacher...it is her favorite activity to do with her dolls...I wanted to make her a "teachers kit" for Christmas but I am not sure where I can get all of those fun teaching supplies. I do not want to pay a fortune since this is just for fun and I was hoping to get a variety of things...any ideas??:confused3

Dollar Tree has a whole aisle full of teachery-like stuff. I would definitely go there first.

Lakeshore has a Let's Play School set that my daughter got last year for Christmas. It included everything that a child would need to play school and was a big hit with my daughter and all her friends too. I think it runs about $50. It might be easier than buying the item individually. Good Luck!!

My DGS also loves to play school and we are getting him "teacher " supplies also.
I was able to get some banner- type things that a teacher would hang up in a classroom at Staples. I got a "student of the month" chart, a fire safety month chart and some other charts with the months of the year, alphabet, etc.
Staples also has cork bulletin boards, blackboards, chalk, blackboard erasers, etc.
Also, on Amazon and ebay, just type "teaching supplies" in the search box and you can get quite a few things, alot of them inexpensive.
Good luck,

Karen :)

I agree with the Dollar Store, they have lots of fun teacher stuff.
Also, the teacher kits are fun. My kids have the "Pretend and Play School Set" by Learning Resources. It is available on Amazon for 27.06 new with free shipping. They play with it a LOT and have gotten every penny's worth out of it!

My dd's favorite teacher play item is her dry erase board. We got it when she was in 1st grade. She loves that thing and plays with it all the time. It really improved her handwriting skills too. For this year, we are getting her small boards for her "class". Just beware that when you erase the markers, they leave a black dust...

I teach preschool and daycare. When we are not learning the favorite thing to do is be the teacher. I have a wooden dowel with a glove on the end folded to look like the hand is pointing. The glove is slightly stuffed. The whole thing was made by a parent friend who thought I needed a pointer. It is such a hit I made one for each of the children to have at home for when they play school. This is the best gift I have given. They and thier parents comment often about how much they like their pointer and how often they are played with.

It was easy to make and cheap. Hope it helps.
