*I hope this isnt a double post, my last one didnt show up anywhere? :confused3

Hello fellow budget minded people! I just thought I would ask if anyone knows any websites for good budget baby items!

We pretty much have everything we would 'need' from ds, but I would of course 'like' a few new things for this baby if we can find things inexpensively. We are really tight on money with this baby.

Anyone know any good websites or stores or other places to look? Blankies, some clothing, maybe a double stroller, little toys, etc? I have the itch to buy things but not the money to do it :flower:

Thanks In Advance!

Right now there is a really great deal at Wal-Mart on a 3 in 1 crib. Folks are finding them at their local stores for $9. I found the info originally at mycoupons.com....I will try to post the link to the thread.....

I just realized that the thread above is the second thread in the whole $9 crib posting. The first thread got too long and was locked. In the first thread there is a photo of the crib. Might want to do a search and find it at mycoupons.
Have fun! HTH. Oh, and congrats, BTW, lol!

Jennifer.

What about checking with your local freecycle group. Lots of people probably have baby stuff to get rid of. It most likely isn't brand new but you wouldn't be paying for it.

I have just started shopping for DD 9 months and am also on a budget. The only decent sized stores in my area are WalMart and Shopko. This afternoon I bought DD a new rubber duckie (she loves playing with them at bath time) for .97$ and a Golden Book for $2.50. I'm still trying to think of ideas for gifts. I have thought about slippers, blocks, sippy cups, and a new Disney DVD or two (we're slowly building up her collection/adding to ours).

Oh MAN I miss shopko!!! We use to have one (I worked at it in college). Keep your eyes out there Ranger Pooh!!! Their clearance is AWESOME!

In Ohio we have stores called "Once upon a Child" it is a used clothing store, but they are very picky about what they take. No stains, rips etc. I have bought alot of stuff from them. :)

We just moved to upstate NY from Delaware. We had Once Upon a child there... I shopped there religiously!! boy, do I miss it now!!!
Great stuff - little to no junk!!

Check in your area for mom's consignment sales. They generally have a huge selection and if you dig you can usually find some great deals.

Burlington Coat Factory can have some really good buys, also check places like Ross and Marshalls. Kmart also has some really good deals... nothing like a $9 3-1 though... WOW, wish that deal was around when we needed one.

First, Congratulations, looks like you and I are due around the same time! :teeth: Freecycle is a great suggestion and Target is a great place to search for clearance baby stuff especially right after the first of the year.

I have to tell you that I would check with Ross/marshall's and TJ Maxx if you have them...I always found great buys there.

Lori, Congratulations!

We dont have Ross or Marshalls, Ive actually never heard of them :rotfl: but we do have a TJ Maxx and I ALWAYS forget about that place :confused3 I have no idea why, I will have to give it a try :flower: I have the urge to buy everything I see but just not the wallet to do so. We have SO MUCH from ds that it is hard to justify ANY purchases, but I want the baby to have some things that are just 'theirs' and not a handmedown.
Oh, we already have the crib but for $9 I might have to check walmart anyway!!!

Thanks everyone!

Thanks, we are still somewhat in shock  But excited all the same.
I think what you should do to cure your 'shopping craving' is to go to Target or the Babies R Us or somewhere like that and go ahead and make a baby registry. It's free and it will be fun to do, I always put wild things on my wish list, things I would NEVER buy for myself.

Try craigslistdotcom scroll to the right and click onto your city. There are many people selling baby items locally for great prices and the best part is no shipping.

I would look for children's resale shops (Children's Orchard, Kid to Kid, etc.) because I find great baby gear there as well as clothes. Sometimes I find like new designer oufits for under $10...it's all about timing.
