Budget $ Off Coupon code: Do they still deduct after car return?

Budget is giving the best price for our May 8-15 trip (9am-9am) using X474200 & $40 off AARP code ($256 w/taxes for van but before the $40 coupon, I hope). We haven't used Budget for a while now. Does anyone know if they still deduct the coupon when you return the car or are they showing the deduction on their website now?

For our Christmas week rental with Budget, the coupon was deducted when the vehicle was dropped off. The coupon savings was not shown on the rental confirmation (just the fact that a coupon would be applied). If this has changed, the change was made after December 30th, 2012.

I think it just changed. I had a reservation last week and the coupon did not show. I tried today and it now shows in the total. You should see the -40 in the total now.

It changed today! I was on the budget site several times yesterday, and the coupon value was not deducted. Today, it clearly shows the coupon value and final price.

That explains the "site update" they were doing last night when I tried to go on late. I was worried about the updates ruining the site like Alamo's site that stinks now.

Thanks! I just tried again and the coupon is showing now. I prefer seeing it upfront so there's no issue "after the fact."

I really like Budget's site - so user friendly and easy to change codes (unlike Alamo), but Dollar dropped price again ($176 total for full sz). If only Alamo would get the hint ...
