Budget Ideas on Hilton Head Island??

sorry about that!!! i have had the card for awhile and never hd to pay for it. TRy this website for some discounts. http://www.placestosavehhi.com/. Also when you pick up your restaurant guide pick up the Places to Go and any other free brochures. THey have numerous disocunts and things to do.

Thanks for the link!!:thumbsup2

All this info is making me want to go there this summer! Think I'll look at the HHI disney website. Do they ever have codes or specials?

ADisneyQueen,
www.mousesavers.com is a great resource to find any Disney discounts. Also there are several other options on Hilton Head for more affordable lodging www.vrbo.com (owners rent out their own properties, you can enter your desired travel dates and owners will send you offers), www.rentalo.com (another owner site), http://www.wyndham-vacations.com/vacation-resorts.html, www.skyauction.com (look for Home and Away Special), www.getravelop.com (for teachers/government employees) these are for condos,homes,villas...which is the only way our family travels, but there are almost unlimited affordable options if you stay in a hotel.

I would return to HHI just to eat at The Old Oyster Factory. It was fantastic.

That looks like the place for a tasty splurge!:cloud9:

Oh! Do yourself a favor and find the 'Sea Shack' restaurant. It is cheap and the absolute best food on the Island. The first time I went, I was a bit taken back by the appearance of the place, it was a real dive looking joint. However, it was so busy, I had to take a number just to place my order. That being said, It didn't take too much time to get the order. They just didn't have enough space inside the restaurant for people to que up to put in their order. It was heavenly seafood. I saw it on Samantha Brown's show and looked it up in Hilton Head.

Another vote for Pickney Island.

We have visited the visitor center as well. It is nicely done.

Order takeout from the Sea Shack.

Order takeout from Guiseppe's Pizza.

We are DVC members and own at Hilton Head. We love it!

I'm a DVC member who stayed at Disney's HHI resort - parking is for Disney guests only and you need a room key to access the beach too.

All beaches on HH are public. Disney can not control access to the beach. That doesn't mean non guests can walk down to the beach thru their access, but the actual beach is public.

TammyAlphabet, SeaShack is on my list!!! I love Samantha Brown!!! Thanks:goodvibes:goodvibes

disneybirds..I was wondering if they had a great local pizza place, that's our family's favorite meal..we'll put Guiseppe's on our list too!!:cutie:
Are you talking about the Hilton Head Visitor's Center?
I would love to check out Disney's resort while we are there...So there is no way to go and walk around the hotel and shop at the gift shop if you are not staying there?? I was just wondering because, at WDW, as long as you tell them why you are there, they let you visit. We used to be DVC owners and had always wanted to visit HH, but never made it.

Green Tea....good to know!!! That makes perfect sense!:)

My DH and I visited the resort the first time we went to Hilton Head. We called in at the gate, and they were more than happy to let us come in and walk around the property. We loved it so much that we just booked our third trip to Disney HHI. They are really strict around the pool area though. The lifeguards frequently ask to see room keys.

just be aware that the chef that made the sea shack popular (he was there during the travel channel spot) has moved on and opened up his own place: roastfish and cornbread.

i was disappointed by the sea shack and very impressed with r&c when i went to HHI last year...YMMV.

mom2threecuties....Thank you, I think we'll give it a shot, the worst they could say is no.;)

chalee94...It's funny you mention that, Dh did a search on reveiws of the Sea Shack and found that out...might have to do a tase comparison!:rolleyes1

Donnainnj...Thank you, that thread has great info, I tried to do a search on HH before starting this thread, but didn't see that one, it does seem to be mostly about the Disney resort, but there is quite a bit of useful info on there as well, I will read through all the pages. :)

Have I mentioned that you guys ROCK???:woohoo:

Wow that is great to know. I haven't been in a couple of years and loved it the last time I went. I will have to check out the roastfish and cornbread.
