am going to Universal for 3 nights the 11-14 of April with 5 kids........2 boys and 3 girls. So I think i need 2 rooms. Any budget hotel suggestions right near Universal? Am an avid Disney fan and will be first trip to Universal

there quite a few budget hotels in the UO area.

if you go to the promo package for offsite hotels on the UO website, you can find more info on value hotels.

if you click on value, you will get a list of hotels, their distance to UO, amenities at the hotel, shuttle service, photos of the hotel, eateries nearby, etc.

you don't have to buy the package, just get some of the info about those hotels that are nearby.

by using that site, you will get an idea of what is out there for you.

I'm going to move this to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board since this does not concern onsite Universal hotels.

Hawthorn Suites Universal would be a good choice.

Large rooms (suites with full kitchens), free hot and cold breakfast buffet, free transportation to Universal, free nightly happy hour with drinks and snacks, pool, hot tub, and sports court. Right across the street from the World Bowling Center (fun nighttime entertainment for the kids). One block off I-Drive. Walk to a ton of restaurants, including Chilis and TGI Fridays.

A full review from our January stay was posted on ***************.com, and you can read it here:
