I have a coworker who will be going down to Disney this summer (July) and she is looking for a budget hotel. She was scheduled to stay at a time share for free, and that fell through. So now she is not sure she will get to go. I really would like to help her get there so she can enjoy Disney as much as our family does.

Do you know of a hotel or condo that is in a decent area and has a decent price?

Thanks for your help!!!

bestwestern lakeside

quality Inn west
www.choicehotels.com

are both reasonable.

the only problem I see is transportation. offsite bus transportation is not WDW bus transportation.

and if you miss your offsite bus - your only choice is a taxi.

now this won't be a problem if she is driving herself.

Thanks for the information. I tried to talk her into staying on site for those exact reasons. She just can't see paying $90-$100 per night. That leads me to believe that she might not like where she stays (65-90 per night).

I hope it turns out ok for her.

Thanks, again

I know you probably also mentioned -

DME - disney magical express - transportation back and forth to WDW resorts for free.

otherwise she is looking at a shuttle or taxi - from the airport to Kissmmee - not cheap.

she also can't get
DDP - disney dinning plan

If she is flying, by the time you add up a budget hotel, car rental and $10 parking fee per day, she could probably stay at a value resort for about the same price. I would definitely stay on property. The off site bus transportation to the parks is pretty sparce at many hotels and many charge a fee.

If she doesn't want to stay on property there are many nice places she can stay. Have her check out the trip reports to find cheap places that people have stayed at that will fit her needs. Even with renting a car and parking she can save money by staying off propey because she can eat off property and if she gets a room with a fridge and microwave they can eat meals in the room. There are hotels that offer free parking and transporation to the parks. The shuttles are limited, but if you go when they have them then it is another way to save money. Check the transporation boards for the cheapest ways to get to her resort for another way to save.

I priced staying on property (value) and staying off and by staying off property I am saving one whole days worth of hotel. (I am only in orlando 3 days) That includes the added day for a car rental too. Staying off property is better then no Disney at all.

I stayed just a few days ago at the Fairfield Inn Marriott Village $74 a night, advance payment no refunds. Well worth it. (I had a free rental car so this worked well.)
