If I'm spending $10k on a trip, I am going to insure it. Again, check what is covered and claimable. If you have not purchased the insurance within the 15 day window of your 1st payment, you will not be able to just cancel for a hurricane and get your money back. That's the cancel for any reason endorsement. Now it's possible if Disney were to actually close the parks due to a hurricane and you miss some of your park days to get some money back. What are thoughts about trip insurance for a Disney package for 4A/2K just under $10K during hurricane season (first week of October to be more precise)? Its only a four night package with 4 adult RT airfares from the Northeast but if a hurricane hits and we are likely to miss one or two of our (three) park days I'd rather cancel.
I just saw a Tik Tok that a lady's family got to Disney, checked in and within 3 hrs, her husband fell and injured his hand. They soildered on. Then the next morning, their first day at the parks, her mom fell and broke her femur. Trip was canceled at that point. They were going all out she said. Reservations where they were needed, events, all the things. I can imagine it was a pretty penny. That is the kind of trip you insure.
Insurance (auto, home, trip, health) is all insurance the what if and hoping you never need it. But if you have it, you are happy you have it when it's needed.
