Hello All-
For those of you who are Disney budget experts, have I got a challenge for you. I would like to know if anyone would be interested in re-pricing my upcoming trip for me? We have ressies with the Dream-maker silver package and I know that there are a lot of people out there that are AGAINST getting a package. The reason that we booked the package was basic convenience and there are a few things that we would like to do that we can use the magic wishes, etc. for. I know that we are paying for the wishes BUT it seems convenient to pay for the package and then just enjoy ourselves.
If anyone is interested, PM me and I will send you the details of our plans so far and if you can truly save us a lot of money then I will be your friend forever. I will bow down to your great budgeting abilities. I have tried to do this but I don't know enough about the recreational activities to do this.
Soo, is anyone up to the challenge? Just PM me for the details. I can either e-mail you with them OR I'll PM you back - It doesn't matter to me.

You know, I love a challenge but I'm not sure that I'm willing to take on the responsibility of someone else's entire vacation. However, I do have a couple of thoughts...

Why don't you wait to see what kind of codes come out for July? There's a rumor that there will be something like the Fairytale Package from last year that will be 7 nights with UPHs for the price of 5. The buzz is that the codes will be available in late April or early May. Reservationists have supposedly been told to expect overtime beginning May 8.

If that package is made available, you can change your ressie to the new package and still do the silver addons for $68 per adult and $38 per child per night.

Keep in mind that the "Wishes" that you get for your family are pooled together. So if you're paying for 2 adults and 2 children, you get 8 wishes per night. Those wishes can be spent by anyone in your group. You can use the children's wishes to pay for an adult dinner, etc.

Mousesavers has a whole page that tells you what's included in the Silver Addon and another section that tells you how to maximize those wishes.

MouseSaver.com - Dream Maker Package with Silver Plan
and
MouseSavers.com - Silver Plan: Getting the Best Use Out of Your "Magical Wishes"

Take a look at those pages and give some consideration as to how you would be spending those wishes during your stay. It may very well end up that the package is actually better for your vacation expectations than piecing it together would be.

mad4the mouse - Thanks for your advice, I actually have already considered that. I am going to wait and see. I did have a couple of takers on my challenge. We'll see what they come up with. I will take everyone's ideas under consideration and devise a package of my own maybe. I can figure out what the food budget would be but I was having problems with some of the other activities that we have planned. Thanks for your input!
