Budget Dress?

Jessica London (catalog and online) has some really nice clothes. They're size 14 and up. I've also gotten some great clothes at Chadwicks (they're the same parent company). I've had good luck with JCP clearance and sales. I got a great black wrap dress at Goodwill for $7. I always check second hand stores and discount stores first. You never know what you'll find!

Often Chadwick's has coupon codes for up to 40% off so it may be worth it to do a Google search for a code. I ordered a nice, formal, black sheath style dress with a beaded hem for about $25 for a cruise last year. It wasn't plus size but I'm pretty sure they carry plus sizes as well. I'm not in the States, so I don't know a lot about different stores down there, but I like to order from Kiyonna and was very happy with clothes that I've gotten from there. They have a whole page of Little Black Dresses:

You really should check out JCPenneys Clearance dresses in their formal area. It is amazing the prices of some of those dresses. I got my DDs some from around $10 or $15 and they didn't even need them. They just wanted to see what it was like to wear a fancy dress, so for that price, I didn't mind. I even got them a beautiful long formal light blue dress and when my blonde DD put it on I swear she looked like Cinderella! Of course, she doesn't want to look like that right now (teenagers!), but she really did look beautiful and it was only $15. They have about 4 of these dresses that I have picked up over the past couple years just for fun.
