I found some good codes from Budget through Costco. What I'm wondering is if I can change a certain combination. I found one combo that included a BCD for 20% off and the attached coupon was for $25 off plus a free 1 class upgrade. So I've already booked that one but today in my constant watch of the rates discovered a different BCD that was for 30% off. So my question is can I use the 30% BCD and then the coupon from the $25 plus free upgrade? The Cosco site says to print the coupon as proof which I have done but it has the 20% BCD on it as well as the coupon info. Do you think that Budget will accept the coupon with a different BCD#?

I hope that made sense.

Thanks :)

In my experience with Budget and Alamo they never ask for the E-Coupon. As long as it accepts it when you make the reservation you should be OK.
You might want to try BCD X474200 (travelocity public code) since sometimes it gives a better rate than Costco code.

I saw the combo you were trying as I currently hold a Costco/Budget reservation. I found that travelocity code to be more expensive on my rental searches.

What I did see is when you click on that 30% off there is no spot to put the coupon code which leads you to believe it can't be combined with any coupons. BUT you can click the link for the coupon plus 20% and enter the 30% off code in place of the 20% code and that will give you the 30% rate then (then you need to remember they will subtract the coupon at the end). Guess it depends on if the person looking at rental return realizes that the discount is not to be combined with that coupon (which is probably unlikely but you never know). In my case it would save $20 for an 8 day rental and I don't know how lucky I'd feel.

Also here is a quote of terms from that 30%

*The savings of up to 30% applies to Budget leisure weekly and weekend rates and is applicable only to the time and mileage charges of the rental. Offer applies to all car groups, excluding specialty vehicles (group X). Taxes, concession recovery fees, vehicle license recovery fee, customer facility charges ($10/contract in CA) may apply and are extra. Optional products such as LDW ($29.99/day or less) and refueling are extra. Please mention BCD# W852849 to take advantage of this offer. Offer is available for U.S. residents only for rentals at participating airport locations in the U.S. Offer may not be used in conjunction with any other BCD number, promotion or offer.

So it specifically says you can't use it with any other offer BUT....how lucky do you feel????

Well in general I'm not a very lucky person. So I guess it's not worth the risk. I will have to just keep hunting for a better deal....actually I've got a decent price considering it's spring break. We have booked a compact for $220 all in and then the coupon reduces the price to $195 plus we get a free upgrade to a mid size. It's a higher price than I'm used to but I don't generally travel at this time. The rental prices without any codes/coupons are around $400.

I received a rate of $359 total with taxes and fees for mini-van so far with Budget, for a trip April 27th to May 5th. Its the cheapest I have seen so far..but know they might drop before the trip. I used BCD - X474200

UGGGGGGGG...now I've found an even lower price (not much $14, but that's a meal) One of the Mousesavers coupon codes that previously didn't work is now working with an American Airline frequent flier BCD#.

It makes me a little uncomfortable that I have no physical coupon and the ressie doesn't show the discount. At least with the Costco deal I have a printed coupon with all the details on it.

Just checking....you can combine a BCD and coupon code with Budget???? I know you can with Alamo and National.

Well they list both fields, but when I entered both the BCD & Coupon code, it still gave me the same rate with just the BCD..however said Coupon applied...so not sure. I guess I will find out when I pick up the car.

Budget won't apply the coupon until you turn the car in and pay.

So I have confirmed that you can in fact use both a BCD and coupon code. A friend that rents on a monthly basis for work told me that yes you can but also I found the info on Rental Car Momma.

Now if only they would show the coupon on your rental ressie I would be happy. I just don't want to play the wait and see game so I'm going to stick with my Costco ressie. At least I have the coupon in hand and know exactly what I'll be paying.

The point with the BCD and coupon code OP specifically asked about is on the BCD code it specifically says it CAN'T be combined with any other discounts (coupon) since it is 30% off....this is further verified by the fact that when you click the link on the Costco site with the BCD discount there is no room for a coupon. So in most cases you can combine but there are exceptions to this.

not when you click costco and the 30% link it doesn't show a field for the coupon. I just double checked to see if I made an error. Anyway the coupon specifically says can't be combined with other coupons or discounts. I wouldn't chance it but go for it if you want. It clearly says you can't do 30% and any other discounts. If you do this and are told you can't combine the coupon you have no recourse for price change as it clearly states on discount it can't be combined. Here is entire discount listed from the Costco site (copied today) and I tried to hit the link and copy that but it was a mess and you couldn't see that it just listed BCD and NO area for coupon code.

Sorry for how big the bold is BUT I am just trying to show others if they use this code the coupon can't be use (clearly spelled out on the terms of using that code). Don't want people to get the wrong information and end up paying extra. Yes, there is a way around it by manually going to the Budget site, entering both this code and the coupon number BUT you might get caught and not have coupon deducted. For me it was a $20 savings and not worth it. I will keep checking and hope the rates go down even more. I will not mess with 'iffy' rental codes or not doing things legit.

For those who are interested this is copied directly from the Costco site. Go to Costco, travel, rental car and budget. It is the first offer. ALSO FYI I WAS ASKED FOR COSTCO CARD IN PHOENIX ONCE BY ALAMO.

I am the OP and I moved on from the original question a few post ago....there was a new question. To which I found and confirmed the answer in the post you quoted.
