OK, first let me preface this by saying I'm not really a "purse person", whatever that might be. I only started carrying one about a year or so ago and it was a Vera Bradley Libby that I've recently gotten completely sick of the pattern. I bought a replacement purse at Kohl's, but it turns out it's way too small for my needs. All it really fits is my wallet!

So I'm on the lookout for a new purse. Ideally it would be big enough for my wallet, iPhone, coupon organizer, keys, etc. I hate having to use my hands to carry it, so over the shoulder, or across the body, would be ideal. That said, I'm not looking for a park bag. I have an Overland Donner bag that meets the above criteria, but it's way too casual to use everyday.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions - I've searched eBags online and while I see a few that might work, I'd love to hear from real people who might use the type I'm looking for who can tell me why they love it (or not). :thumbsup2

I just designed a small messenger bag from this company is a really cute pattern. You pick the shape, pattern and handle and they make the bag. It is the perfect size and dressier than many similarly shaped bags. It is larger than my coach sling type bag, it really holds everything I need.

Check out Thirty-One purses. Its a company that does in home parties like tupperware and such. I had a party just last night actually. I love their products. They not only have purses but they have great organizational totes and bags. They are reasonable and nicely made. I am not a high end purse person but I do like my purses for organization needs. Here is their website.

Oh and you can personalize the items too!

I found one I think I like! Can I order through your party? Let me know how to do that, if it's still available - thanks!

I used to walk past the Viv Pickle store(in Old City ) all the time. The concept seemed really interesting. Glad you liked them.

If you have a Marshall's or TJ Maxx nearby, haunt their purse racks for a few weeks until you find what you like. I find purses to be impossible to buy over the internet - I need to see them.

Overstock.com has a big selection with $1 shipping. I just ordered a Nine & Co. bag for $22.99.

My best purses/bags are Disney ones. My latest one is patterned on one of the really fancy kind but is a pretty blue, with a paisley Mickey Head outline. You have to look really hard to see them all. I got it cheap at the Disney outlet store when it was in town! I have had it 3 or 4 years now!

I think I just found what I'll be doing the next few hours.

Since you already like the Libby why not just get it in a new pattern. If you sign up for their email VB puts certain patterns or styles on sale all the time. I have purchased 6 VB in the last 6 months, some for me some as gifts and only once have I paid over $30. I usually get them for under $20. Also, if you have a store near by simply go in and ask what they have on sale/clearance. The lady's at our store are always super friendly even when I tell them I am on a budget. :)

I find good deals on purses at Target. They don't carry highend name brand but their prices are good and they have a large selection.

I love the Thirty-One purses. I found out about the company through these boards. When there wasn't a consultant in my area I decided to sign up. If you go to the website and ask for a consultant they will give you a consultant close to you that you can order from. They have a really nice cross body bag it's just big enough to hold what I need and not too big so I can't keep stuffing it until I end up with a bag so heavy it hurts my shoulder and neck. Another of my favorite purses is the skirt purse because you can change the cover (or skirt) to change the look. That purse has two different sizes.

I really like my vera bradley hipster. I keep going back to that, year after year, pattern after pattern.

I bought my latest one at 50% at the local hallmark store....
