LONG STORY, bear with me here!!

My husband is in the Navy and stationed in San Antonio. I could NOT find a job there, so I moved to a different town (4 hours away) with my two kids. I am a teacher by the way.

I have a cell phone with Sprint and he didnt have one. Well, he refuses to use sprint.... bad experience years ago with him!

So, he went out and got a Verizon plan.

Now, I would like to know if anyone knows if there is a site to find people to take over a cell phone plan. I have a nice phone and would give it to them free! I have heard of sites, but don't know of them.

I am locked into Sprint until March of 2011, but would love to find someone to take it over so I can get on with my husband with Verizon to save some cash!! It's already tuff paying two sets of bills.

Does your DH deploy soon? (Not that I wish that for you and your family.) My DH always canceled his contract before he deployed overseas. Sorry I don't have the info you are looking for, good luck and tell your DH thank you for serving.

I know with our Verizon plan you get a certain number of "any other cell plan" numbers to call just like they were Verizon so until your plan is up could you and your hubby work this out so he is always calling you instead of you calling him which will save you some money? Not sure this will help but maybe.

I am pretty sure that cell phones get charged minutes regardless of who called who.

The minutes are not the biggest problem. It's the darn TWO cell phone bills. It costs a lot more for two plans than it does for two phones on one plan. Hopefully somoene will know of the website, or A website!

Can you just close the account and take the early termination financial hit? I think it's less than $200. That's a pretty good deal to walk away 17 months early.

I don't know if other companies do it, but if you are an AT&T customer calling another AT&T customer there are no minute charges.

I understand that Sprint is harder to swap out because they don't have "cool" phones. Some people sweeten the deal by offering a cash incentive on top of the free phone. But in the long run it might to cheaper to just cancel the contract and take the early cancellation penalty.
