Budget Bridal/Wedding Shower Gift?

Only if their home is filled with lots of photos. I sold every frame I got at my bridal shower ;)
:thumbsup2

Lol - me too! :lmao: I think they are one of the most re-gifted presents. I think people have such different tastes, that it's hard to give gifts that go with a person's decor.

Get the wine glasses!

I agree. I was going to re-gift an 8x10" frame that we would never use, thankfully I took it out of the box beforehand to make sure it wasn't damaged. It was actually personalized with our wedding date and last name. That would have been embarrassing.

I say go for the wine glasses or utensils on the registry. With the utensils you could put them in a holder for the counter instead of a basket. I personally always try to buy any board games they may have on the list. They can enjoy those before and after the wedding. The week or so before our wedding my husband and I played lots of games to keep our minds off the nerves and stress of the wedding. Good luck!:)

Another friend did a "Something old, something new" theme and gave me a recipe that had been in her family for generations (old), a colander (new), a glass measuring cup with a baggie of sugar (borrowed), and a blue satin nighty (blue). I loved the idea and didn't cost her much at all.

What a cute idea!!

I'm another of the ban the frames group. I loved my laundry basket my mom gave us. Let's says she couldn't keep herself to one room. I had kitchen, Bathroom, entryway etc in there. I still laugh about the garlic press that was suspossed to be a can opener. My mom had taken nieces and nephew shopping with her and they were helping to get my stuff and one of them Apparanty decided I needed Garlic press worse that a can opener.

My mom has give out oil lamps and scented oil for the lamps. Couples have come back years later and told her how great it was when the lines where down either from snow or wind storms they had light to read or play cards . Everything would be around $ 20.00 NOT BAD.

I loved all the thoughtful gifts people got for me, but I wish people had bought more stuff off our registry. We ended up with a lot of things still on the list that I truly wanted, but we didn't have the cash to just go buy it all ourselves. You can buy off the registry and still make it personal. For a wedding gift, our friend did an entertainment basket, with board games we registered for, popcorn, a blanket, etc. Recently for a bridal shower I hosted, she did a basket with towels (off the registry) and pretty soap and bath salts or something.

Don't think registry and thoughtful, personalized gifts can't go together, because they can :thumbsup2

I like this towel idea a lot! She has several towels on their registry. But I like the idea of adding a bit of personalization with the bath salts or whatever.

Thanks for pushing me towards the registry. I will probably go shopping next weekend for the shower. I'm hoping to get a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon in the mail since that is one of the places they are registered.
