Budget and using BCD from travel forums

I am just now realizing that there are many discount codes floating around the internet for discount car rental rates. I've been looking through old threads here and see a bunch of good ones for Budget that drop my rates by as much as 40%!

So my question is, has anyone used some of the awesome discount codes to pre-book and then been asked for proof of membership, employment, etc to validate the code when picking up the car?

From my research it rarely happens, but does happen occasionally. If you look back in this forum a couple months you'll see all the problems people here had using a code for Hertz sent out in a newsletter. My suggestion is always to use Autoslash and let them find the best codes, then if something goes wrong, Autoslash will make it right.
