Just back from solo trip May 7 – 14. If you are thinking about a solo trip – do it. Had a wonderful time touring at my own pace.

Some random comments/observations:

Weather was great – hot during midday but no rain. Crowds were manageable. Great time of the year to visit. Flower and Garden was beautiful.

Star Wars fireworks at HS are awesome! Was able to walk over to viewing spot after F! with no problem. Great viewing spot is near the tables outside of Min and Bills Dockside Diner.

Breakfast ADR at Be Our Guest was great also. Time was 8:10. Preordered Feast A La Gaston and food was very good. Done by 8:30 in time to line up for 7DMT. When the opening ceremony broadcast began at 8:45, we were allowed to board 7DMT. So two rides before wait time increased.

Each park has a Starbucks café which I found to have healthy sandwich options for adult meals. At HS – The Trolley Car Café, AK – Creature Comforts, Epcot – Fountain View and MK—Mail Street Bakery. You can also use your Starbucks cards to pay there.

Probably my favorite QS restaurant is Les Halles Boulagerie – Patisserie in France /World Showcase. Great sandwiches and pastries out of this world. Kind of hidden in back of expo and you must walk thru gift shop so I believe many people are not aware of it.

Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to answer.

I was just about to search for threads on solo trips and found yours! I am going to a work conference in Orlando by myself and plan on doing two days of the parks while I'm there. Some people act like I am crazy for going to the parks by myself, but I think it sounds fabulous! Glad you had a good time.

Glad you had a great solo trip! Solo trips are the best. Nice to do exactly what you want w/o anyone else to worry about. :-)

I went on my first solo trip four years ago, and had a great time! I covered a lot of ground being by myself. I'm looking forward to my next trip in August!

A few years ago I had a conference at WDW and arrived a few days early to enjoy the parks. A couple of times I've gone to the parks solo when DW is attending a conference in Orlando, and which I'll be doing again next March. She figures a visit to the parks every 5 years or so is overkill so I tend to do solo trips while she is networking.

That's exactly how I started doing solo trips. Stayed an extra weekend after a conference. Now I enjoy going both with family and without...

I am glad your solo trip went so well! The Patisserie is my husbands must do when we are there!
I did my first (and hopefully not last) solo trip in Sept 2010. I jumped on a train in Indianapolis and left! It was awesome!! It was sort of a bucket list thing for me! Definitely a "breaking out of my box" thing.
Thank you for posting! You remind me that I need to plan another solo trip! :)

Op- Thanks for your post! I just booked my first solo trip for a long weekend in July! I am so excited!! I usually go to Disney with my son but since he is going away with his grandparent I felt like this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I have wanted to do a solo trip for awhile. I had enough points to book at BWV which to me is going to be a great location for my solo trip!!

Definitely my favorite QS restaurant is Les Halles Boulagerie – Patisserie in France too. Geaux Tigers.

I am new to this forum. I was looking around to see what others thought about solo Disney world trips. I took my first solo trip last year July 23-27. I stayed at the Polynesian. I got lucky and got a room right next to the main lobby. Perfect location. This was my 32nd trip to Disney so I knew everything I wanted to do. I was very excited that I could do anything I wanted anytime I wanted because I'm used to compromising with friends/girlfriend/family. I got the deluxe dining plan which was well worth it in my opinion. 3 table service credits a day. What I did was I would pay for breakfast out of pocket and then use 1 credit for lunch either at a QS (Cosmic Rays is a fave I don't know why) and then dinner I would do signature dining for 2 credits (good friend of mine manages California grill so I'm there all the time when in Disney) so it worked out well. I did the keys to the kingdom tour for the first time and at first I thought I'd be exhausted from all of the walking but I didn't even notice how much we were walking because I was so interested in the tour. The tour guide was great and the group was mostly solo travelers so we all enjoyed conversating with each other. I'm very out going and could talk to anyone anytime so being alone never bothers me. I recommend dining at bars as much as possible so you can avoid the whole lonely table thing. Some good bars are California grill, the boathouse, flying fish (currently closed for renovations), tune in lounge at 50s prime time cafe, the Tambu lounge at the Polynesian and ESPN club. But the best part of going solo was the night life. I love Jellyrolls. Been going there since I turned 21 (7 years ago). It's incredible. I became friendly with some of the pi

Which weekend in July are you heading down?

What was supposed to be a 25th Anniversary visit next has turned into a solo trip!! Hubby started a new job 2 weeks ago and cannot go... My kids (all grown) want me to cancel.. They are worried about me traveling alone. have been to Disney 15+ times since 1996 so I am very comfortable there. Staying at SSR. I plan to do things hubby does not like (exploring Epcot countries). My only issue will be eating.. I will probably do QS. I am sad that my husband can't go but I am looking forward to my first solo trip.
