Yall are assuming that ALL will entertain my child is bubbles. You are completely wrong. I have done the pipe cleaners, I-spy, guessing games, paper and pen, snacks, etc. My child is very well behaved (not just my opinion) and loves talking with others. But there are times that those things do not work. So I pulled the bubbles out (outside lines only) and everyone around loved them. I am sorry some people have had their clothes stained. I know not all bubbles do that. I have said since my very first post that I blow the bubbles for my child, so she can't spill them.
If I looked at things with well what could happen with that item as yall have done then I could get poked or scratched with the pipe cleaners; someone could be allergic to what my child was eating, my child could spill the drink, the guessing games might get too loud for someone, my child might write on someone with the pen/pencil/crayon/marker.
The point is everything COULD bother or infringe on your rights if it is not controlled.
You obviously see nothing wrong with blowing bubbles in line. I've never met anyone that could control bubbles all the time - they tend to blow wherever the wind takes them. Perhaps you are the exception.
I think your other examples are stretching - none of the other things you mentioned do things on their own the way bubbles do. The pipe cleaners don't fly around randomly poking people; your child's food isn't likely to fly across the rail and land on my glasses. Bubbles go where the wind takes them - that's their normal, expected behavior. They can't be entirely controlled.
Clearly, according to your post there are times when your child can only be entertained by bubbles. That is unfortunate. You are aware that bubbles bother some people, but you obviously think that your child's right to be entertained by them trumps everyone else's right to not have to clean bubbles off of themselves and their belongings. In my opinion that's quite rude.
You've said that all someone has to do is ask politely for you to stop blowing the bubbles, and so if I am ever next to you in line that's what I will do. I hope that doesn't come at a time when your child is only able to be entertained by the bubbles.
