Bubbles at the park

I spent the morning blowing bubbles in the yard with my toddler. I was thinking, would it be okay to bring bubbles to the parks and blow them while we are waiting for the parades to start?

I've never done it, but I've seen others mentioning that they blow bubbles in ride lines to keep their children occupied. The only problem I see is that if it upsets another guest (like having bubbles fly into their face, lol). I think blowing bubbles while waiting for a parade to start is a great idea!

I just came back from Disney with a two year old. Whenever she got restless, out came the Buzz Lightyear bubble maker! It did the trick. When you blow bubbles from it, Buzz looks like he's taking off in a jet spray of bubbles. We made sure we were not close to anyone, but it sure kept her occupied and kept the meltdowns to a minimum.

If there are people who would get mad about getting hit with a bubble out there... i dont really want to be around them... c'mon now.
I dont think you would have any trouble... in fact i might bring some when i go to DL this winter... Think 2 adults a 23 year old and an 18 year old would look funny playing with bubbles?

I agree. But believe me, there are people out there like that.

Just be considerate of folks in electric wheelchairs and ECV's; the soap/water could mess up the electronics if it got into the controls. (Same caution w/ water from mister fans, btw.)

we always take bubbles to keep my kids occupied and, yes, we make sure we are far enough away from others so we're not doing it right at them.
We experienced one downside to this however -- the little girl next to us saw us playing with our bubbles and had a bit of a meltdown, crying that she wanted them too. (She was only maybe 2 years old or so.) The frantic mom came over to ask us where in the MK we bought them -- I felt so bad telling her that I brought them from home!

I bring bubbles with us to lots of places. If you decide on the small bottles with the wand inside I'd also bring a longer wand as well. The one provided always seems to slip off little fingers back into the bottle and it's a pain constantly fishing it out.

I always carry bubbles with me when we go and I don't have any children. I buy the ones for weddings. They are small and compact and I can carry a few with me. When I see someone having a problem with a children I will ask if they would like one. I also buy inexpensive small toys and bring. It is amazing how a child will calm down with a small toy. I never give to them, unless I ask the adult they are with if it is alright.

I know when I did have kids I usually took so much stuff with us. It sometimes amazes me that some of the parnets don't bring anything for the kids.

Just don't do it in a line mashed together w/ 200 other people. Trust me, people will be hot and cranky and not find it amusing. Unfortunately in line it's really hard to get any personal space. At the parades--- it's much easier.

If you guys have a Party City store near you. They have in the princess party section. The little botle sof bubbles with wands on a necklace with Ariel on it for 99 cents. I picked up a few for my DD5. We always bring bubbles. Last year they saved me and everyone around me in the stand-by line for Peter Pan ( I kno9w I shoul dnever do that line but she asked nicely) Bubble are amazing at WDW!

I love the bubble idea. I think that will keep my DD (5) busy while standing in long lines.

Another suggestion. If you are in a crowded area you could always ask the people around you to let you know if the bubbles bother them. That way they feel you are being considerate.

Bubbles are great! And they have them at the Dollar Tree stores, in the party section - they come in packs of 6, I think - I've seen the little white bottles, and also ones that look like champagne bottles. Nice and small, to fit easily in a fanny pack - although I would suggest putting them in a zip lock bag first.

If we are in a line that is indoors I will not even bring them out. That is when I mostly use the toys.

Everytime I have used them to given them to be used, people around us, tell me what a great idea that was. I really cannot take the credit, and I tell them where I found the idea a long time ago that I read it on one of these boards and I thought it was a great idea.

My DD (17) & I take the small bottles of Wedding bubbles to the parks. If we see kids in line that are getting restless, then we get our bubbles out and start using them. But if we bring them, we bring extras to give out.
A box of Wedding bubbles isn't that expensive and the wand is on the lid, so you don't have to worry about dropping it in the bottle.

If we don't have extra bubbles with us, then we have stickers to give out.

We were telling a good friend of ours about taking the bubbles to park and she has a 3 yo daughter and we were at a friend's wedding. We talked to the friend and any extra bubbles, she got to take to the park for her 3 yo. They thought it was a great idea.

I just bought a ton of these for our trip. At the party store they had hypoallergenic ones so you don't have to worry about the bubbles accidently hitting people with allergies (my neice is coming with us and is allergic to some soaps). I figure I will take extras to hand out to parents that have screaming kids!

ITA. Be considerate of those around you. There is a time and place for everything. How about those mini-etch-a-sketch or mini-magna-doodle instead? No mess, small and any kid can play with them.

Have you ever gotten bubble-soap in your eyes? It stings like crazy! And some bubble-soap stains (but I wouldn't wear anything 'nice' that I'd have to worry about to WDW anyways...)

Bubbles can be a fun way to pass time waiting for a parade, except when kids run away from their parents chasing the bubbles down Main Street

So, bring your bubbles, but expect that some people will not want to get it in their faces, or spilled on them as they sit next to you, etc.
