Ok, I'm debating this with my roommate and I need a general consensus about whether it's "normal" to take a shower after a bubble bath. I enjoy bubble baths, but I always shower afterwards to rinse off all the suds and shampoo my hair. My roommate claims this is not only unnecessary, but I'm suppose to get straight out of the bubble bath and towel off, to keep the skin from drying out.

Who's right? IS there a right way to bathe? :confused3

If I'm washing my hair, then I shower quickly after. If I'm just in the bath to relax, then I just get out.

I take a bubble bath every night before bed, and I shower every morning (includes washing my hair.)

So, no.

When I take a bath, it is for relaxation purposes, not to get clean. I'm already clean before I soak in a tub. So no, there is no reason for me to shower after a bubble bath.

I have to shower after a bubble bath. If I don't thoroughly wash and rinse the bubble bath off my skin, I'll itch and tingle until I finally do. Even if I could find a hypoallergenic bubble bath with no dye or fragrance, I still don't think I'd like the feel of it left on my skin.

A bath is for relaxing; a shower is for cleaning. Then again, I also use a sepearte glass of milk to dunk my cookies in and then throw out milk. I can handle crumby milk!

I agree that shower=to clean, bath=to relax.

However, after taking a bath, I am not clean, even if I go in clean. The stuff from the bath remains on my skin and I do not equate that with being clean. It is primarily soap but when I shower and use soap, I rinse it off, I don't take a full cleaning shower, it is a quick rinse off to get clean.

I have tried it twice now to go in clean and not shower afterward but I felt so disgusting that I had to take a shower shortly afterward.

Perfectly normal! Who wants to get out of a tub after sitting in their own dirt water without rinsing off! A bath does not get you clean so you need to shower after taking one!

It is a rare thing for me to take a bubble bath, and I thought I was weird for taking a shower afterwards...glad at least 15 other people do that too. I feel better now. :cool2:

I shower to get clean in the mornings or when I have gotten sweaty or grimy and take baths to relax at night. I have to shower after taking a bath. Otherwise my skin feels coated with the soap or bath bomb or whatever I've used. It's more a rinse than a full shower, really, because I wouldn't use soap then. There's no way I could just step out of the tub and dry off and feel clean without rinsing off quickly.

If I take a bubble bath, I have to rinse off - the soap residue makes my skin feel dry and itchy. But rather than shower, I just run clean water into a big plastic cup and use that to rinse off while standing in the tub.

LMAO!! :lmao: I agree 100%. For me its a MUST to shower after a bath. If I dont, i feel itchy and disgusting. Knowing im getting out of the bath with all those remaining dead skin cells and dirty soap particles doesnt sit well with me. I have to scrub after. I associate baths with relaxing. I still rinse off afterwards. I dont care if im being wasteful, it must be done!

I don't really take a full shower after a bubble bath but I will turn the shower on long enough to rinse the bubbles off (about 30 seconds to a minute).

Ditto!! No way am I climbing out of my tub...and then jumping in the shower....that's way too much work. Maybe if the two were connected it might not be too much of a big deal, but I don't feel dirty when I get out of a bubble bath so it would be pointless.

I can't use bubble bath stuff, but years ago I took a bath every night. That included washing my hair in the tub. I never felt gross afterward. :confused3
