BTRBBQ food allergy question

I have a quick question for everyone about BTRBBQ- we plan on eating a dinner there, but there is a black pepper allergy in our family (also a picky eater) so it creates a problem eating family style already prepared bbq food.... Does anyone know if we contacted them ahead of time if they would be able to prepare just some chicken without bbq sauce or anything on it (plain) or something else similar as most sauces already have pepper in it and its a severe allergy. Hoping that we can squeak by with getting some plain corn, chicken, etc which would be enough for dinner. TIA

I don't think you should count on it. The way they prepare things at places like that requires them to have meats going constantly so it's very likely that all the chicken and ribs for the day are seasoned ahead of time, not to-order like some other meals.

Since salt and pepper are such standard seasonings, you may have a hard time finding much there that has no pepper, considering it's a barbecue. The cornbread should be safe, and the corn likely as well but I would ask to make sure.

It can't hurt to contact them and ask. I had indicated one of our party had an allergy when I booked. When we were seated one of the chefs approached our table to enquire about the nature of the allergy and discuss any specifics.

I have a citrus allergy so they always prepare me the ribs totally plain. So, they can do it for sure. It does take extra time - 15 min or so.

When you call to make the reservation, just make sure to have them note on the reservation what the specific food allergy is. They might also ask for your phone # so they can call you with any questions the chef might have. Disneyland deals with guests with food allergies all the time. They should be able to make an accommodation for you if you let them know prior to your arrival for a table service/sit down restaurant.

Go ahead and make the reservation, then e-mail the special diets e-mail address in the link posted above. Let them know the date and time of your reservation and the name that the reservation is under. My daughter has an uncommon food allergy, so I have e-mailed this address several times with questions about specific food items and they have been very helpful. It may take a few days to get a response, though.

Thank you everyone!! I sent an email and they said they forwarded it to another department who can help me with it (food and beverage team). Hoping they will be able to make plain ribs or chicken for us, but its worth an ask for sure! Hoping to enjoy this one before its gone :guilty:
