BTMRR closed August - Nov

I know this has been asked, but where are we seeing this posted as the new closure dates? I checked a few sites and still see it closed April through July

When it became obvious yesterday that it wasn't closing in April I checked the Disney site. At that time the calendar went to 8/22. Yesterday 8/22 had it listed as "under refurbishment". Now today, it goes to 8/24 and all of Aug is listed as "no times available". Perhaps they are still deciding when to do it.

We love BTMRR too. Wel'll just have to be happy with Soarin reopening, River Of Lights and night Safari, Star Wars Launch Bay and new fireworks, and the new Frozen ride.

A whole new strategy presents itself! Like work-study programs at college, you get your ticket in exchange for working a day. Or like their give a day get a day promotion from a few years ago, but instead of donating your time to a charity, you clean WDW bathrooms and earn a ticket. . . The more nasty the job, you get an extra FP with it!

A day's worth of work = a day of fun the parks!

And yes, if you clean the bathrooms you get bonus FP's.

I am SO happy that it was changed from April!! I was even able to grab a fast pass! yay!

Of course, this might have helped the cause a little. My 5 year old DD balling her eyes out as we are driving away from Orlando saying (through tears) "Bye Disney. We'll see you again real soon. Disney really is a magical place." Literally made me cry too.

My DD5 was laying in bed at 10 pm on Wed of our Sat to Sat trip. Out of nowhere she started bawling and said that every day she gets a little more sad because there is one day less of Disney and we have to promise her to go again but not tell her so every day she wakes up might be a day she gets to go to Disney. Awwwww.

I was just able to switch one of my FP+ picks on April 5 to BTMR as well. Looking forward to a chance to ride this now on my upcoming spring trip.

Those are the old refurb dates. Those sites haven't caught up. Disney changed their website (the page for each attraction shows the official open and close times for the ride for each day). This week Disney put it back on the schedule for April - June and gave notification on the fall timeframe in their TA information.

I'm so, so disappointed in this. This truly will be a once in a lifetime trip for my family (flights alone usually cost in excess of $8000 for us) and BTMRR is the ONE ride we all keep talking about. It was closed when we went to Disneyland three years ago too. It's my husband and I's favourite, favourite ride and we haven't been able to take our boys on it at ALL I hope there is some error and it's open in September.

I think this is the funniest thing I have ever read on these boards. Literally in tears!!


Since my party is all "adults" (21, 24, and myself), I don't think BTMRR being closed is a deal breaker. I'm glad to hear Small World rehab is cancelled. We have one person who has never experienced WDW, and to me Small World is more iconic.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing. I'm talking about the Swiss Family Treehouse. You just walk up the stairs and back down again. There's no ride and it's not something anyone would do at rope drop.....not even my Treehouse loving family want or need to do this at rope drop.

Good news...we'll get to see it on our May trip BUT I had been looking forward to seeing the new version on our September trip.

It WILL be working in June. The refurb date was pushed FROM April-July TO Aug-Nov. No need to be sad! Looks like you'll be there at the same time as us. We're thrilled we will get to ride it! It's one of my favorites!

I was so ecstatic to see they had changed this refurb date. I go down June 9-14 n love this ride!!!!! I am sad though to see Soarin may not be opened. I would have loved to see the new screen.
