Bruce Willis Diagnosed with Aphasia

I just got a notification about this on my phone - very sad.
I‘ve always been a Bruce Willis fan since Moonlighting. It just shows we ALL must count our blessings, because life can change pretty darn fast.
I wish him well and hopefully the media will not make life miserable for him.

Bruce's impairment must be significant for the family to share this information. Really sad to hear this news. ☹️

I love Bruce Willis, and wish the best for him and his.....that said, this isn't meant to be a dig on him, but I wasn't aware he still had a career.....In fairness, I'm not much of a new movie buff.

My dad passed in February from COVID and Alzheimer's. I'm not aware of what is causing his aphasia, but diseases of the brain are so awful. They steal your loved one away from you long before they physically pass away.
Yeah, my grandmother left us years before her body did.

Sounds serious, sorry to hear about this. Been a fan for a long time.

Horrible sad news - I expect he’s bad if they are sharing it and he’s stepping away so sorry for Bruce and his family

His recent movies have been straight-to-DVD release. His movies to-date have grossed over $5 billion world-wide.

It has to be pretty bad. Michael J Fox continued to act with his condition as long as he could.

That is so sad....best wishes for him and his family.

The last movies we watched with him were pretty bad

What I have seen is it’s dementia & he has been dealing with it for quite awhile. Has used things like earpieces & voice overs to help lines. He just turned 67. It’s sad. Hard enough to deal with this stuff with a very elderly parent. Makes you pause when you realize it is happening to people just a few years older than you.

Totally agree about the "few years older than you" thing.
And, like so many others, I've always been a Bruce Willis fan.

I never heard of this condition, but here's what I Googled: Aphasia is a condition that robs you of the ability to communicate. It can affect your ability to speak, write and understand language, both verbal and written.

Aphasia typically occurs suddenly after a stroke or a head injury. But it can also come on gradually from a slow-growing brain tumor or a disease that causes progressive, permanent damage (degenerative). The severity of aphasia depends on a number of conditions, including the cause and the extent of the brain damage.
