BRP reservations. Paying in full

Is it possible (or a good or bad idea) to pay your BRP reservation in full. I want to pay it in full with my Disney Visa so I can get the reward points for the trip. When I booked it only took the deposit. It didn't give me any where to change the amount I was charging. I called CRO after that and the CM didn't see the reservation yet. He said sometimes it takes a few days to show up.

But I was thinking maybe since the rate can possibly go lower (although I doubt it will seeing the general public discounts are out now for that time period) they won't take payment in full.

Anyone have any experience with this? Were you able to pay in full before you arrived? And if so did your rate lower after that and how did they handle the credit balance?

they will not let you pay in full using the BRP. they only will take the one nights deposit. I went thru this,(I like to pay resort off before getting there) the only thing for me to do, was get the rest of resort in disney dollars and pay it in full when arrived.

You cannot prepay for the room under the BRP. I was told the main reason is that if someone prepays for the room under an AP rate and does not have an AP then that persons vacation may be ruined when they have to fork over rack rate or go elsewhere. This way there is a measure of control because you will have to pay the room at check in where the nice CM can ask to see your AP.

That doesn't make sense though because you have to have an AP to book the room through the site. They must have some other reason, but who knows. I suppose you could book it and then your AP could expire. It's crazy.

It is due to "system limitations." None of their room only online reservations can be paid in full. The system does not allow for additional payments, and if you make them (if a CM takes it by mistake) the amount you paid over the original deposit is then refunded back to your card (tying up your money for a couple of weeks.)
