Today was DH's first day off in two weeks, and he worked like a dog today outside. So as a treat we went to WDW for dinner! :teeth: (Whatta surprise ;) )

We went for Brown Derby, as we have not eaten there for a few years and we thought we would have a better chance of getting in there than a few other places.
And another surprise -- It was raining -- steadily -- for way too long....

We walked in to BD and was told we had a 30 minute wait. The wait was more like 10 minutes.

Seated, and were promptly waited on.
Ice teas to drink. (We are such an exciting couple. ;) )

DH started with Lobster Bisque laced with cream sheery, creme fraiche and hand-snipped chives.
I ate two rolls.
He said the soup at Kona Cafe last night was much better. The lobster bisque was good, but "kinda bland". Between the Clam Chowder at Flying Fish, the soup last night at Kona, and the bisque tonight, the bisque came in last.

The rolls were good. Nice and fresh.

For the main course DH ate Char-grilled Center Cut Filet of Beef with Dijon crushed red potatoes, horseradish aioli and merlot jus $26.99.

I ate the Stone Ground Mustard-Crusted Rack of Lamb with potatoes gratin, patty pan squash, rosemary garlic fusion, and port wine $26.99

DH wanted to compare their filet with Kona's.
Kona again won out, hand's down. He said it was good. But Kona's was much better. Everything else was "okay". He was again comparing against last night at Kona.

He said Kona was "way, way better" He said even his portions were larger at Kona. (And it cost less to eat there.)

I ordered my meat well done. It came mdium rare, and that was on the end. I didn't even bother cutting in the center.
I sent it back. I explained I would rather have it charbroiled than undercooked.
And I ate another roll waiting...

When DH was almost done eating his meal (even eating slowly) my food came.
Much better. It was good. But nothing to rave about. The sauce the food was laying in was what made it good.
I ordered this meal mainly due to the potatoes gratin. They were a square clump of hash browns with a good quality, but mild cheese, and lightly toasted around the edges.
It was good, but like DH's soup, they were "kinda bland".
The patty pan squash must have been the three small short squat green things on my plate. They looked like smashed brussels sprouts, and kinda tasted that way too.
I also had two skinny strips of whole carrot. (I did not know carrots came that thin.) One was cooked. One was almost raw. At least they had flavor.

This was not a bad meal. And had we not had such a good meal last night, we might have appreciated it more.
It was still noisy. At least it was typical restaurant noise. Not loud talking men and kids having melt downs. (not big deal really either way)

The service was good. I felt like when the CM waitress dropped off my food she could not get away fast enough. I got the impression she did not want to be around if I wanted to send it back again.
;) :jester: :o

Good, but we would not be in a hurry to return.
I would give it a *** out of *****. Glad to have the DDE discount. It didn't make it so painful. ;)

The best part -- we rode ToT afterwards!! :bounce:

Thanks for posting! I am no hurry to get back to BD, either!( Although, my kids enjoyed their meals and would likely disagree.) Actually, there is not a restaurant in MGM that is a "must-do" for us anymore...
