Brothers

I've seen the Danish version of this movie....it was excellent. I plan to see the US version for sure.

I didn't know it was a remake, I just know I love Toby and Jake, and thought it would be great

I don't know about the Danish part but the story line is certainly not new. The most recent I can think of is Pearl Harbor... well, the love story part anyway :) I think I'm going to see Brothers on Monday.

Here's a link to the original Danish version. It was a very good film, if you get a chance, you should see it.

I hope I am not hijacking your thread, but I have a few questions about the movie.

From what I have read, the Danish movie is more about the PTSD, than the love story. Is the US version the same? I really want to see the movie, but not sure if I am ready to see a movie about PTSD. I wanted to see the Ryan Philippe movie Stop-Loss, but it also seemed to be about PTSD. I may try to see it in a few years.

If its a more a love story we may go tonight, otherwise, it will be put on the wait a few years list.

http://www.newsweek.com/id/224355 It sounds like it does deal with PTSD

Thanks for the link, I think I will pass for now and save it to see later. Its funny, sometimes I can't handle movies when they first come out, but if I have a few years behind me, I can deal with them. I think this one will be that way too.

I'm sorry that I came off as things were bad for us. They really aren't!! DS just has PTSD so we are very careful in what we watch and do. You never know what will be a trigger. I will have to be more careful and not sound like a sad sack!! He has a great doctor that he still sees and things are so much better and now we are slowly able to see and do things I wouldn't have dreamed we could do years ago.

I can sympathize about the PTSD. I also suffer from childhood situations and I still get triggered sometimes. Thankfully it is rare and less often as I age. (This is why I am hesitant to see "Prescious" right now even though it looks awsome.)

I also want to see this movie but would appreciate some feedback first! Love me some Jake too.
