Broadway show Wicked, cameras allowed??

The Souvenier program cost $20 but we got that in waiting area near the box office before the inner doors opened. I don't know if they are less in the lobby my daughter also got a magnet for $8 once we got into the lobby. Some of the sweatshirts are nice too.

Get there early to see how you are greeted ....The announcement that the doors are opening. This happens inside the waitig area near the box office about 45 minutes before the show starts.

I got 2nd row right center dress.

I got 2nd row right center dress also, how funny!! But I purchased my tickets less than 2 months ago, I'd been checking for about a week and suddenly all these dress circle seats showed up for the date I'd been checking. I don't if they were holding them for a late releasee for some reason? I've never been to a broadway show so I don't know if that's typical but I was thrilled because I had a feeling these were very good seats and I knew these shows were nearly selling out a year in advance.

DW and I are going on October 7th ...

We're going to the October 7th show too!! But we're going to the evening show, I couldn't get decent seats for the matinee. So we'll instead be spending the night in Boston and doing some sightseeing the next day.

Thanks for all the replies everyone!! I'm definitely one who follows the rules when "no photography" or "no flash photography" is announced but that's great to know there will be a souvenir program available which I'll definitley be buying. I'll be bringing my camera and leaving it in my bag other than taking pictures of the opera house outside and at the stage door.

This is my first time to a real broadway show in case you couldn't tell!!

I am lucky enough to have been to a ton of Broadway shows because in High School, our drama club took us twice a year to see them. I have been 4 times since and have seen a ton of touring companies.

I saw Wicked in Philly two years ago. i only took one picture while intermission. It was of the map and the dragon. But I would never take a picture during the preformance. I've preformed in many school productions and even the parents take pictures. It is so distracting. One time I forgot a line when someone was taking a picture. It was not good so the guy I was on stage with just kept going.
They will probably say no photography before the preformance.
But have a fun time. I'm sure you and your daughter will love it.

They made a bunch of announcements when I saw it saying once you had entered the theatre no photography was allowed. Of course everyone wanted a pic of that awesome curtain, so they flashed away anyways lol. I swear, I turned around and was blinded by all the flashbulbs lol! Oh well, at least they stopped before the performance began.

I took a picture of my daughter (15) in front of the giant poster near the box office. I too wanted a picture of the map screen and the dragon..............But I'm a rule follower too and didn't

DD and I got back from Boston this afternoon and Wicked was SO wonderful!! And I couldn't believe how good our seats were considering I only bought them from Ticketmaster 2 months ago, we sat down in the dress circle seats and all I could say was "Wow" (knowing there were SO many people behind us in the mezzazine and balcony seats that I figured had to have purchased their tickets long before I did). I thought the dress circle seats were better than some of the orchestra seats since we were looking down on the stage and we were so close!! And the opera house was stunning, absolutely beautiful.

Now I'm ready to see it in NYC.

I just took a few pics of the entrance, a couple in the lobby and I took a picture of the map and the dragon before the show started, I would have loved to take some pictures during the show but the program I bought will have to do. We didn't wait outside the stage doors after the show, I forgot about it actually in the big rush to get out and find a taxi...it was late and after walking around Boston all afternoon prior to the show we were pretty wiped out and couldn't wait to get back to the hotel and into bed.

Thought I'd share a picture of the entrance, I was surprised at how tiny the front of the opera house was considering the size of the theater.
