When I saw Aerosmith in Dallas, there is no way he wasn't doing a voice over. He was having health issues at the time.

Motley Crue before him? Too perfect.

Superbowl? Bruce Springsteen did sing live but the band was not. That was obviously because they could not set up a band in that short amount of time.

I think at times artists get very run down and cannot put up a full performance, so they may use voice overs.

It probably goes on alot more than you think is all I am saying.

Now Britney is in a class by herself. No comment there.

Going to see Motley in a couple of weeks. Seen them many times, and perfect is not how I would describe them.

I heard about The E Street Band not performing. As is, it's highly unusual that any performer sings at the Super Bowl, but Bruce insisted on it.

I'm sure it does happen with certain types of performers. The Britney's, the Hanna Montanna's, etc. I think the type of stuff I listen to, I don't think it happens that much. I can't fathom U2 lip synching.

I won tickets to see Britney years ago. She was playing the piano and singing, she got up and you could still hear the piano!!! The girl is so fake, she couldnt even sing a ballet without using a voice over! I would never invest my money to stand and watch her preform!!

I see concerts in a small winery venue - and the performers sing! Of course we're talking about Huey Lewis & the News and Chris Isaak.

When we saw Billy Joel a couple of years ago, we were so far away from him in a huge arena, I wouldn't know if he was not actually singing - it sounded like he was.

She has never sung live in concert- so this shouldn't really be a shock LOL Most pop stars do not sing live. With all that moving and shaking you can't really. People go for a show, not to hear her sing. It's the same with the Jonas Brothers (sometimes) and even the Oscars!!!

Its pretty common for those that are bopping around the stage. I realized that years ago when I saw Christina Aguilera and Destiny's Child.

I think it all depends on the band/person. I dont expect the Eagles to be lip syncing and I would Britney Spears

I was already in college when hair bands were big so I never got attached.

I am not saying that they are bad just not one of my choices. To be fair when we went to the Crue/Aerosmith concert we did not see all of the Crue.

Surprisingly alot of the teens were there to see them. That was an eye opener.

The Crue left, the young people left and the old folks stayed for Aerosmith. We thought that was so funny.

For a REAL musician, I would assume they could do a live show. If I went to see Elton John and Billy Joel again I would want them to sing it all!!

Same goes for Paul Mc Cartney! I've seen the three of them in concert, amd I'm sure they all sang for the entire show.

Personally, if I went to see Britney, I would go to see her perform, not just sing. She is an amazing dancer, has been since she was on the Mickey Mouse Club in 1993.

If she choses to lip sync, it won't change the fact that I'm a fan of hers. I've been a fan for years and I'll still be a fan for years to come.

Before that..........dang, I can't remember who I saw before that, it's been so long.

You are paying to watch her dance and parade around stage. Not only does she not sing, I'm pretty sure the songs are just music with a few lyrics thrown in here and there, so there won't be much lip-syncing to do anyway. It isn't going to be how they sound on the radio. I have never seen her in concert but this is what I think it would be like based on her TV performances.

I haven't read the other posts, but I just wanted to post my opinion. Britney is an AMAZING performer, her concerts are out of this world that I really could care less if she sings live on stage, I honestly don't think someone could sing and dance like she does at the same time.

Ok showing my age here, but i went to see Tom Jones on friday night in Asbury park. i was in the 2nd row and he sang every one of his songs. When he sang "I'll never fall in love again" i couldnt believe how terrific he sounded.

I had several friends attend concert last night.

All of them were very disappointed.. she hardly danced, just that silly little prance she does most of the time.

The circus was way over played. They all said she DID sing one song live .. a slow one and that she sounded nice.

Most left early.

The Pussycat Dolls on the other hand were a HUGE hit.. Sang their butts off and danced like crazy.
