British visitors not eligible for FP+-according to VH

We go in November so, for curiosity's sake , i asked for my 12 digit number to link everything on MDE, which the concierge gave me and I have now linked everything together so hopefully will be able to do my FP+ requests in September. DSis goes in 18 months time so contacted Virgin to ask when she could have her 12 digit number and eventually got something from the concierge service saying British visitors were not eligible for pre-booking fastpass+ but "not to worry as Disney have saved some faspasses for us to book when we arrive" (OK maybe paraphrasing a tad but that was the gist of it)

Can anyone confirm this? Because if so this may just put the tin hat on any further Disneyworld holidays for us-already wondering whether to just go to DL instead-OK less parks there but the only rides we really REALLY love and would miss is TT and EE....

Really am wondering if even WDW is worth all the stress and anxiety of planning the blimming holiday!

I can confirm the this is utter crap and you can book FP in advance. The only requirement is an onsite booking. That's it.

Sorry but this is one big reason why I will only book direct with Disney. It too has it's fair share of challenges but if it's not FP then it's something else ...

Call back and insist that they have the wrong information

Just to let you know people on the dis know more than experts :)

I was fed this rubbish by vh. Eventually the concierge in resort team sorted.

At one point they told me i didnt even need fp+. I wont use vh again for disney

Absolutely hilarious:rotfl:but before everyone starts flaming VH i have to say that many tour operators (large and small) often give out wrong information, its either poor training or the person on the end of the phone just can't be bothered to source the right info.Even when you call Disney direct you can get several different answers to one question:confused3
My best advise is ask here first and then tell VH what you can and can't do;)

Yeah, they're talking tosh.

My boss told me today he booked his FP+ for April with no issues.

I know people who have just come back and had booked through Virgin Holidays. They were able to make their Fastpass+ reservations 60 days in advance.

prebooking FP+ is an onsite perk (so far)
it doesn't matter who you book with or from, as long as you are an onsite guest (or AP or other categories) you can book FP+ in advance.

It's just like VH told you that you couldn't do EMHs because you're from the UK ...

TAs are often less informed than the people they sell vacations to, that's why I avoid them like the plague.

You can certainly book FP+ from the UK but maybe not if you book with Virgin holidays. If that is the case i can see them losing a large part of their business

If you can get a confirmation number that can be linked to your MDE account I don't see how they would be able to stop you from booking FP+ :confused3

I have to say,it's not just vh who speak garbage.

I was on the phone to disney-and the lady told me other than prebooking any adrs we wanted-all we to do was turn up.
Nothing else in advance, just arrive at resort and enjoy vacation-imagine that?!:confused3

Trouble is you should be able to book FP+ as long as you stay onsite, regardless of who you book through (see chmurf's post), BUT it seems that the travel agents like VH, Thomsons and the like are not on board with this. I have a feeling Complete Orlando won't be an issue; they seem to at least have some basic training in the things of WDW, from what I hear.

Bottom line is, as I said, there is always something; either they 'can't' give you your reference no. for ADR's or they 'can't' do something else or they tell you you 'can't' use Magical Express .... there is always something and I don't even price hunt for our trips anymore. I book with Disney and that's it. I try make up the savings elsewhere if need be.

I had a job interview on Wednesday at a large travel agent and when I said I know about 180 day dining reservations, FP+ at 60 days, magic bands they had no idea what I was talking about. Lol

Unfortunately not enough TAs are disney trained lol.

I suspect the VH rep got their wires crossed and was thinking of Magic Bands - they wouldn't be the first person I've seen who think Magic Bands and FP+ are one and the same.

Magic Bands are not shipped overseas so you pick them up at your resort when you arrive.

Unfortunately vh have offshored a lot of services. Yhey almost need a specialist disney team as its a lot more complex than the norm of just booking transport and room.
