Hi Boo,
We looked high and low for it last year, and coundn't find any at all!! My DM has just come back from a stay in Fort Myers and couldn't get any there either!!
I'll have to have a real good look again this summer, or else take some satchets.
I must say, I love the syrup one!

I haven't tried to buy it in Florda admitedly (tend to eat a granola bar and fresh fruit for breakfast in Florida), but have bought it in Colorado (Safeway and City Market supermarkets stock it) and California (Albertsons supermarket)... so can't see any reason why sypermarkets in Florida wouldn't tock it. LOADS of flavours.... just maybe seperate from the cold cereals. If you can't find it ask - ask for "instant oatmeal".

Sorry Obi for offending your ancestors . I probably shouldn't say that I like the plain flavoured instant porridge with either a little jam or sugar free pancake syrup on top then...

But seriously, there are a few things it's hard to do without over here, like Marmite...........

(All the local tourist-area supermarkets do have an 'International' section with British foodstuffs, BTW, but it's definitely cheaper to bring your own. Good chocolate IS hard to find here, while Walkers crisps still knock everything else into a cocked hat!!)

There is a Publix on US192 west before the turn off for Hwy 27 next to the public library. It has a large selection of British products and you can visit the library to check your e-mails.

Any advice on getting british chocs/drinks etc in Orlando. I know of a store in Kissimmee which does sell some Brit goods but does anyone know of any near I-Drive?

As mentioned already, most larger supermarkets have an International aisle that will stock Britih products for a price. If it's something specific you cant go without then it would be easier and cheaper to take it with you.

We dont take anything with us but while in Wal*Mart we did buy 2 bars of Dairy Milk because we fancied some.

you don't have to buy instant Porridge just add water and a wee of milk to the real thing and cook / put in the microwave for 2 mins

we never have room for chocolate in Flordia what with all the huge portions they give you .

do take my own tea-bags though theirs is yuk

WHY? You are on holiday in a different country. Why not try the local goods and foods?
Why is it that all over the world where you go, its oNLY the British who want to insist on buying "British" foodstuffs when on holiday?

Publix supermarket have an ethnic aisle that do a small selection of 'british goods' at expensive prices.

I must admit that I agree we should try the local produce etc, the strawberries for example are wonderful...there are some exceptions though, I don't drink Tea but accordding to Julie they 'dont do tea very well at all' so I do tend to buy PG Tips or Tetley's from Publix.
Also Josh loves his gravy, so a bit crazy I know but we actually take Bisto with us....again, never found anything to beat it in the supermarkets over there.

I think I can manage without Marmite for 2-3 weeks, but I do take proper tea-bags (although we did find one waitress in Perkins on I-drive who almost knew how to make it - she warmed the pot and put 3 teabags in, and brought us proper milk to put in it ). I hate their chocolate but there's plenty of other stuff to eat which has the advantage of not melting DS(5) loved cinnamon Frosties, so we used to take a plastic bag of them with us (without milk of course) and he would munch away on them in line or on the bus.
