Hi,
Would anyone have an easy British meal that my daughter could make?

She should be able to make this, it's one of my favorite British Dishes. My kids love the name,,lol. This is just one variation on the dish,, basically what I do is get a large cassarole baking dish, and place the sausages on it, and cook them. Don't drain the fat tho, it's what cooks the pudding part. Once the sausages are done, pour in the batter from the recipe, and let it bake with the sausages a bit longer. Serve with a nice onion gravy and mash potatoes. It's yummm.

All she has to do really, is mix up the batter ingredients

The finished product is baked sausages, with a crispy and chewy batter around them, smothered in an onion or plain brown gravy. I usually use Bisto gravy, which is quite easy too,, but any gravy mix should work.

CAWS POBI / WELSH RAREBIT
4 ozs. grated cheese
1 oz. butter
Slice of toast
3 tablespoonsful milk
Pepper and salt (mustard if desired)



Place cheese and milk in saucepan and melt slowly. Add pepper, salt and butter. When piping hot pour it over the toast and brown under the grill. A little beer is sometimes added to the mixture.
Maybe forget the beer if daughter is young!!!

PICE AR Y MAEN / WELSH CAKES

8 ozs. flour
2 ozs. margarine
3 ozs. sugar
¼ teaspoonful mixed spice
1 egg
½ teaspoonful of baking-powder
2 ozs. lard
2 ozs. currants
Pinch of salt
A little milk


Rub fat into flour. Add dry ingredients, then egg and milk. Mix into a stiff paste - as stiff as for short pastry. Roll out, cut into rounds and bake on a griddle.

Poohbear, what type of food does she like? Is she into pasta? And is this a meal for one or more?

She likes pasta and food not too spicy and easy to make.
This is a dish she needs to make to take to a pot luck type of lunch at work. Thank you all for the suggestions you have made and I will pass the receipes on to her.
