I'm just trying to find out if the new passports (with the digital photo) still have the plastic layer over the photo page or not? Had to get my UK passport replaced 18 months ago as the plastic was peeling off (after being scanned so many times) and guess what is happening again?
It's more expensive to get it done here (I live in New Zealand) and so am thinking about doing it when I get to the UK soon - but just wondered whether the new passports eliminated the issue.
