We're off to Florida in Feb '05 for 2 weeks in a villa off highway 27 - about a 20 minute car journey from WDW. Two weeks for the villa is costing me < £500. My wife was looking at booking us a week in Wales towards the end of the summer holidays next year. To fit all 5 of us into a cottage (I dislike caravans with a passion) is going to cost at least £800.
Now I know that I probably shouldn't but I just can't balance two weeks in a sunny climate in a huge villa with a pool on a gated & secure complex for less than £500 - against - one week in Wales when it'll probably rain in a shabby cottage for £800.
Granted I'd still have to pay air fare, car, theme tickets and spending money in the US but, oh, I dunno. Why do British holidays have to be so expensive? I was looking forward to a trip to Wales as I love the country and the people but I'm not going to be fleeced for a week. If I'm paying more than £100 a day to stay somewhere, I want something spectacular!
