Hears hoping she will get better real soon.

I hope she recovers. This is so sad, but there are health warnings. :sad2:

The trouble is not all cardiac diseases are apparant until a sudden shock or exertion triggers a problem.

Absolutely, Gill as I mentioned on another thread my son had a heart murmur from when he was born, it wasn't discovered until years later and for that reason I'd never allow him to ride the thrill rides, BTMRR is scarey enough for him! I wouldn't like to estimate how many people have heart defects that they really aren't aware of, my son has no symptons at all and hopefully never will have, it was only down to a very eagle eyed doctor it was ever discovered

My thoughts and prayers are with the girl and her family. I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.

She immediately underwent brain surgery at Celebration Hospital. Since then, she has been life-flighted to Florida Hospital where she is listed in critical condition. Her heart stopping was probably a result of something ruptured in her brain. Her mother said she was feeling bad before they even got to the park.

Oh bless her.

her poor poor family......

We were in the Celebration Hospital with my son when this girl was brought in. She was put in the next room. We were able to come home as my son got well. I would like to know how she is doing but have been unable to find any new news? I thought perhaps someone on the U.K. boards might know a bit of news? Anyone? I am hoping that she is recovering.....

There was an article in the Orlando Sentinel today in which this was mentioned:
"On July 12, Leanne Deacon, 16, of Kibworth, England, suffered cardiac arrest shortly after exiting Disney-MGM Studio's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror thrill ride. A CT scan after her collapse showed she was bleeding in her brain.

Although Leanne complained of leg cramps and headaches before her collapse, her mother, June Deacon, told deputies that she too had no known medical conditions.

Leanne remained in critical condition Thursday at Florida Hospital Orlando. Family members have not disclosed further information."

We left on July 15 and had not heard any new news. I am hoping that no news is good news and that she is doing well. I felt terrible for her Mom, they had her out in the hallway and she was in shock! If you hear any new news please post.Thank you.

The excerpt I posted above was in today's Orlando Sentinel - 5th August. She is still critical. I'm so glad your son is better.

I live in the same county as Leanne. There was a small snippet in our local paper earlier in the week. It just said her condition was 'critical but stable' the hospital had said her condition had not changed since she was admitted. Very sad. If/when there is any more news I will post here.

It may sound odd but just by being in the next room and seeing her brought in and hearing her Mom I feel like I need to know info. I felt almost guilty taking my son home knowing that her daughter would not be leaving anytime soon and knowing that they were so far away from home.............I think you again for the info. I appreciate you taking the time . Thank you again.
