Hiya, I have booked to go to Florida June 08 to get married I'm looking to have the wedding at disney world but don't know where to start. There is going to be 15 guests including me and my htb. My travel operator at home is no help at all. I'm worried if I book with them then it's just a 15min ceremony and thats it. I have visited Disney World before and know that there's lots to do but I feel in the dark. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to fill my wedding day with lots of fun? Or an email address for disney as I can book with them?

Have you been to disneywedding.com? You can get a idea of what is offered. There is contact information on there. There are several UK Disney brides on here. So I'm sure you will get lots of help. Welcome and GL with your planning.

Hiya thanks for the welcome, I have tried to the website but they don't seem to have an email address. I did notice that there were a few british brides which has made me feel better. I stumbled across this website by off chance and I'm so glad I did. It's really helpful. Thanks anyway

hiya
sounds like you'd be looking at an escape wedding, they have an 18 guest maximum, and includes the ceremony and a cake cutting "reception". you can book these with virgin holidays and first choice but i advise you to book direct with disney. the escape package includes ceremony, limo, basic photo package, cake, champers. you need to book the officiant seperately along with the following if you want them: make up/hair, additional videography/photography, extra drinks for your guests.
you can book a meal at any WDW restaurant if you'd like more of a "reception", many brides (including myself) do fireworks cruises in the evening or you can book an illuminations dessert reception.
escape weddings for 2008 run at $4000 for seabreeze point, sunset point (not available in summer), yacht club gazebo, and wilderness lodge (max 10 people), $5000 for the wedding pavilion
or if you want a proper reception, wishes weddings have a minimum spend of $10000, more for the weekends, but you get to choose everything. (the escape weddings are more like a "package")
if you wanna pm me with any questions i'd be happy to help in any way i can

Congratulations and welcome. You have found the best place to get all the best tips for planning a Disney World wedding.
I used the Disneyweddings.com website to plan the main parts of the wedding, location flowers & characters etc then all the finer details I picked up through reading the threads on here.
I too and from the UK and felt it a little daunting at first.
I almost booked with Virgin holidays, but read that were not veyr good, so I booked directly with Disney. I was helped throughout by a wedding co-ordinator. They were great, and our wedding was beautiful.
You must be so excited. It truly is the most magical place on earth, and I felt so lucky to have been married there.
Happy planning.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and :welcome: to the boards from a fellow Brit!
We originally booked thru' Virgin but then cancelled with them and went straight to Disney (phoned them, using the prefix number from www.telediscount.co.uk for cheap calls to the US).
We are having an Escape (just 7 guests) but we also arranging some extra things to do (booked direct with Disney, not Disney weddings). In the morning, we are having a character brekkie at Chef Mickeys, then getting ready, having our ceremony at the pavilion at 2:30 follwed by the cake cutting as part of the package. After more photo's we are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella, Prince Charming etc and then the Wishes cruise to watch the fireworks out on the lagoon.
Is there any particular thing you're looking for info on? Maybe take a look thru' some of the posts on here to get some ideas, and if that doesn't help (or throw's up more questions) then post again. The more posts you have will give you extra features - like Private Messaging, posting links, photo's etc.
Have fun planning:goodvibes

Welcome to the board:thumbsup2
We looked on the Disney wish book to start with, and it gives you quite a lot of information and numbers to ring to get you started, they sent us a DVD of the weddings that they do (it was'nt much help) but it was a start, and then we found this board :surfweb: which was an amazing amount of help everyone is so helpful on here :rainbow:

so :welcome:
