I was just reading about Britian's Anti-Social Behavior Orders and I see so much room for abuse. It's unbelievable to me that things that are not against the law can be criminalized without full legislative process.

I realize that the rights of the few are sometimes trampled by the majority and here in America we make provisions for that in our electoral process. But I would be very much against us following in Britian's footsteps and creating a department like this one:

The Asbos are certainly a strong bone of contention, they are officially a 'telling off' from the authorities for people who are constantly annoying neighbours, roaming the streets drunk, graffittiing and too young to prosecute etc, unfortunately many local authorities have got a bit slap happy with them and have handed them out to people for what seems like fairly tame offences, but the thing is, if your neighbours kids were constantly trampling over your garden or playing their music too loud what other choice is there?
We live in a society where to tell someone how to behave on their own property means they'll more often than not stick two fingers up.
also they have now become a status symbol amongst gangs of youths, how great do they feel when they've got 6 asbos apiece?
